The alpha disto for RISC OS for the Pi has now been simplified. The 2Gbyte SD card image is compressed down to 21.7Mbytes at a compression ratio of 98.7%.

It's included in the latest distro, with a few useful links to other sites and a 'Welcome' page on start up.I have not managed to find a browser so, in the absence of a package manager, how do I install a browser?
Why not try RISC OS? It's still alpha at the moment but it's quite a good programming environment.So I tried Squeeze.

The Distro is now just 21Mbytes and requires 3855600 sectors and so should fit most 2G cards.Seems one of my 2GB SD cards only has 3862528 sectors available regardless of formatting choice.
When an official download appears it will almost certainly have a browser included (probably Netsurf). Networking is working.Just have to get a browser onto it and see if it can see the outside world!
