Not true. They were removed because alpha testing was concluded and the official distribution was imminent.and found that all alpha distros were withdrawn with the implication that they may not have been lawful.
But vchiq is essential for some software - particularly RISC OS. Please return it immediately!There is a new firmware update. It's a partial update which includes the new vdec3 but not vchiq. It doesn't require a new kernel.
Please test and report.
