Similar problem, using Raspian that was pre-loaded on SD card bought from RS. apt-get update works, but nno difference apt-get upgrade downloaded loads of files then reported a failure at the end and aboterted. Update doesn't upgrade.. it just updates the source trees, but doesn't really change the...

Re: USB-Serial Convert hangs the Pi !!

So I looked at the trouble shooter. It mentions how to go about a "firmware" update. Did'nt notice anything about how update the Linux. So which is it I need to update. Is it the "firmware" in the chip or the Linux image on the SD Card ? Firmware updates can be obtained via normal apt-get update &&...

Re: Duh, ssh admission; password/locale/keyboard

Did you find a way to change keyboard layout for the US, to allow @ symbol? Keyboard & time zone have been changed, but choice of US / Dell keyboard still doesn't allow @ symbol. So you might say it is a restricted character, and needs a firmware upgrade at a later time? I hope that they fix that. ...

Re: Please, could you include codelite in Raspbian?

More an issue of getting the project to make it available in a format that allows you to use it on the Raspberry Pi than the other way around. You might want to use the feature request form for the project to see if they can provide the codebase in a format that can be used on the Raspberry Pi.... h...

Re: NFS ROOT over wifi?

You could have a script run after the boot process is over to fire up the NFS connection. Your WiFi should be up and running by then. You could either setup a start up script in /etc/init.d or perhaps instead use /etc/rc.local pointing to a script that perhaps waits a bit before making the connectio...

Re: choosing sd card

I use MicroSDHC cards instead of full sized SDcards... They have an advantage of being able to be put into a USB thumb drive and being access using that instead of just as a SDcard. I also can use them interchangeably between phones and other devices without "having the wrong one". Many internal SDC...

Re: Backup or Copy SD Card

You might have some issues restoring a backup to a different SDcard due to the size.... even if the new card is the same size. I had to deal with this with a friends RPi the other night and found that I could shorten the image file using Win DD. I explained what I did in the post http://www.raspberr...

Should be okay... I've not done what is the new update process (I did it manually when it first came out and manually moved the elf files). but it should be easy to do.

My current cards are interchangeable between my 256 and 512mb models.

Example: http://webrpi.tnet.com/status Displays a number of live info about the Raspberry Pi sitting next to me. Note that this is done in the context that the website is using a PH...

You don't have to buy from Allied.... I haven't

There are many suppliers of the Raspberry Pi.... not sure why you are only looking only 1. Never waited more than a couple weeks for any of the ones I have. Supply is tight right now, but I know that MCM has some coming in a week or two.
