Re: Gstreamer 1.0 for raspbian

Thanks for the pointer. I missed some sources indeed. Just tested and it is much smoother :) although gstreamer takes quite some overhead. 50% cpu compared to 3-7%. Anybody got lower cpu burden? Did you fully remove the packages installed by the byvontaene.de-repository prior to dist-upgrade ? How ...

Re: USB and networking not working in Jessie

New SD card, installed noobs, installed rasbian. All was working, then just updated the kernel, USB and networking stopped working.

Installed pidora, updated only the kernel, same again.

USB and networking not working in Jessie

Ran dist-upgrade last week, USB and networking stopped working. Just reformatted clean and installed Rasbian, updated to Jessie and after reboot both networking and USB stopped working again.

Really out of luck, can't SSH or connect a keyboard.

Re: OpenVPN tutorial

I'm a little lost when copying the config: cp: cannot stat ‘/usr/share/doc/openvpn/examples/easy-rsa’: No such file or directory This is what I get when running locate # locate easy-rsa /etc/openvpn/easy-rsa /usr/share/doc/easy-rsa /usr/share/doc/easy-rsa/changelog.Debian.gz /usr/share/doc/easy-rsa/...

Mac OS X has a built in VNC viewer. VNC is what is used is OS X screen sharing. The apps location is "/System/Library/CoreServices/Screen\ Sharing.app". If you install Bonjour, the RPi will show up in Finder under "shared" just like any Mac or PC, just click the RPi icon and VNC opens. Bonjour is mi...

Re: Broadband needed for my TV.

Why not just get a Homeplug AV system?

I recently bought two of these and they work wonders. http://www.zyxel.com/uk/en/products_ser ... .shtml?t=p

I live in a big 5 bedroom house, I get around 200Mb/s from one end to the other. Limiting factor is the 100Mb switch in my router.

Raspbian starting in Gnome not LXDE

I installed some gnome services and it has also installed gnome desktop. Oops!

Now I can't seem to get back in to the default lightdm interface. I have tried "sudo update-rc.d lightdm defaults" and "sudo dpkg-reconfigure lightdm". Reboot and it still loads in to gnome.

Please help.
