Re: 64-bit weekly kernel autobuilds for RPi4 released (bcm2711_defconfig)

The only file I've edited was config.txt to add the stuff above the [pi4] part to see if that would trigger it to boot properly as per the modified Raspbian Buster image. -rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 423 Jul 24 08:15 COPYING.linux drwxrwxrwx 1 root root 512 Jul 28 18:45 'System Volume Information' -rwxrwx...

Re: 64-bit weekly kernel autobuilds for RPi4 released (bcm2711_defconfig)

Strange!? I copied these files across the to the FAT boot partition: https://i.postimg.cc/WbjHvBgN/Capture.png I now get a Rainbow screen and the monitor stays on - but the screen is black. I've waited at least 10 minutes and nothing happens - from either HDMI. I will try one more time using a diffe...

Re: 64-bit weekly kernel autobuilds for RPi4 released (bcm2711_defconfig)

I can't get it to work. I wrote the following to an empty micro-SD card using Etcher on Ubuntu 16.04 amd64 host: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/releases/bionic/release/ubuntu-18.04.2-preinstalled-server-arm64+raspi3.img.xz I then proceeded with these commands: linuxpc ~ # mkdir -pv /mnt/piroot li...

Re: mount networkdrive does not work

Need first share a folder on windows via the sharing and advanced sharing tabs.

On the pi:
sudo apt-get install samba smbfs
sudo mkdir /media/Data
sudo mount -t cifs -o username=username //x.x.x.x/share /media/Data

that cifs also needs to be installed first

Re: 64-bit weekly kernel autobuilds for RPi4 released (bcm2711_defconfig)

Hi sakaki, thanks for your reply! However, I am currently working on adapting my own 64-bit (kernel + userland) Gentoo image to work with both the Pi4 as well as the Pi3 (indeed that's the main reason for me creating the 64-bit kernel autobuilds, although hopefully they will be useful to others). BT...

Re: 64-bit weekly kernel autobuilds for RPi4 released (bcm2711_defconfig)

sakaki, "This will hopefully be addressed upstream shortly" sounds a bit vague; I'm not being funny, but any ideas why Raspbian has 4 GB of RAM but everything else only has 1 GB at the current time? Sounds like a conspiracy theory, so who can provide the most explicit answer? :P Incidentally, how co...

Re: 64-bit weekly kernel autobuilds for RPi4 released (bcm2711_defconfig)

Good work sakaki! Can it tap into the full 4GB of RAM on the 4B model? How could I use the 2nd kernel for Ubuntu Server? https://ubuntu.com/download/server/arm And do you think it would be successful in loading up a GUI contrary to previous attempts? (see below) https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/vi...

Re: Run Raspbian on Raspberry Pi 4 64bits kernel

Following the instructions of the first post, we managed to build a ubuntu-18.04.2-preinstalled-server-arm64+raspi3.img.xz for the rpi4. Binary image available here: https://cloudkernels.net/ubuntu-18.04.2-preinstalled-server-arm64+raspi4+kvm.img.xz (sha1sum: 0b1d8b72ea5410fb7928925fd76dd0218b4f7a9...

Re: 64 bit Ubuntu 18.04 on Pi4B

I cannot even get this to boot at all anymore - even though Raspbian still boots. It's hit or miss whether I get the rainbow screen then it just goes into power save mode on my monitor. Not sure what has gone wrong with my Pi4? I already tried the recovery and get a flashing green light - and Raspbi...

Re: 64 bit Ubuntu 18.04 on Pi4B

This is a great start - the lazy image even has KVM enabled! Could you guys please share your exact terminal commands to get any kind of GUI? I tried sudo apt install lubuntu - but it doesn't find any such package. Should a repository be set first? I tried sudo apt install lxde - but just got a mous...
