Re: lighttpd fails on Buster

lighttpd works fine for me on a RPi 4 with Buster. There shouldn't be anything that was changed on a RPi 4 that would have affected it.

What happens if you run "sudo /usr/sbin/lighttpd -D -f /etc/lighttpd/lighttpd.conf"?

Re: Issues with wireless mouse and keyboard when USB 3.0 HDD plugged in

USB 3.0 causes 2.4GHz interference and your mouse is using that for the wireless link. Try moving the receiver away from the HD and its cables. Try a different USB 3.0 cable for the HD as well. Some of them are very poorly shielded.

You need v2.52 of WiringPi to recognise a RPi 4. The version in the Raspbian repo is still 2.50.

Yes but it doesn't show you anything useful since the commands are processed in the VideoCore firmware. vcgencmd will send anything you tell it.

Re: Complete description of vcgencmd anywhere?

Is there a *complete* list of function arguments for vcgencmd? No. Closest to official documentation is probably https://github.com/raspberrypi/documentation/blob/JamesH65-patch-vcgencmd-vcdbg-docs/raspbian/applications/vcgencmd.md but that isn't complete. A lot of the commands are for internal tes...

Probably cloudflare screwing things up again.
Nah. Cloudflare does handle www.raspberrypi.org which is why it has a different wildcard certificate issued by them but downloads.raspberrypi.org points to servers hosted by Mythic Beasts.

All good now anyway.

Looks like it is fixed now with a new certificate. The old certificate was revoked but the new certificate hadn't been loaded onto all the servers yet hence the OCSP failures. Re: downloads.raspberrypi.org SSL certificate revoked?

It isn't in the CRL but the Comodo OCSP server is saying it is revoked. Firefox and IE both give an error saying the certificate has been revoked. Chrome doesn't check OCSP by default so you don't see any error. Download certificates using: echo -n | openssl s_client -showcerts -connect downloads.ra...

What makes you say so. My Firefox and Chrome say the cert is valid for another year. The certificate checker https://www.sslshopper.com/ssl-checker.html#hostname=raspberrypi.org tells be it's valid. downloads.raspberrypi.org SSL certificate revoked by OCSP?

The downloads.raspberrypi.org servers are using a revoked SSL certificate for *.raspberrypi.org

www.raspberrypi.org is okay but they use a completely different wildcard certificate for *.raspberrypi.org issued by Cloudflare.

New vcgencmd commands on RPi 4

The firmware has some new commands and arguments that are specific to the RPi 4. Some are fairly self explanatory but a few aren't very easy to work out. "bootloader_version", "measure_temp pmic" and maybe "measure_volts usb_pd" are probably the most useful additions unless you're doing low level st...

Run sudo apt update first. You've got an old cached copy of the Raspbian repo data. Those files are missing because they're old and have been superseded with a newer version already.

The Raspberry Pi 2 appears to be have been discontinued. They've committed to making the RPi 2B and 3B until at least January 2022. The 2B was altered a while back in revision 1.2 to use a downclocked 3B SoC though. The 3B+ is until at least January 2023. Ashaz101 should be able to get a replacemen...

Because people are making 4K60 content? It isn't just gaming either. It isn't costing you anything extra to have the 4K60 support anyway so why do you seem so angry about this? If you don't need it then don't enable it.

And also, the USB3 is connected to the SoC over a 4Gb/s PCIe lane, so it doesn't run at full USB3 speed. You're not comparing like for like here. You can handle 1x USB 3.0 port at maximum throughput with the PCIe 2.0 x1 link between the SoC and the USB controller. The 5Gbps for USB3 is the raw sign...

10+ USB-C cables tested with a RPI 4. Most are fine. Avoid Apple Macbook cables and cables that say they're capable of 10Gbps+ operation.
