Re: [GUIDE] Raspbian Lite with RPD/LXDE/XFCE/MATE/i3/Openbox/X11 GUI

Hi, I have done a fresh install of Raspbian Lite and the basic RPD desktop, rebooted and have reached the login panel from LightDM however after using default pi/raspberry combination nothing happens and login panel appears again after a few seconds. What should I do? Cannot commandpromt window eit...

Re: Dilema! Manjaro VS Raspbian

How would you know the operating system is the cause of the sound problems? If you installed dependencies that are causing problems for your computer, you should install the OS all over again. This actually means using BalenaEtcher or equivalent to flash the OS image to a SD card. I flashed a Raspb...

Re: Dilema! Manjaro VS Raspbian

never had audio breaking on Raspbian, even from Jessie (used for about 1 year on RPi3B) whether its audio from: TRRS (J,S,B) HDMI (J,S,B) USB dongle (J,S,B) DAC-HAT, includes DAC-Amp HATs (S, B) Confused me as well as to how the most supported OS for the Raspberry Pi could have such a basic problem...

Raspbian: Extremely fast and streamlined, and with a few online themes installed, can look nice. However, many times I've found the audio to suddenly break after a while (this has happened on a number of occasions) Audio breaking is usually because something installed PulseAudio. Whether or not tha...

Dilema! Manjaro VS Raspbian

Hello all. I've been using Manjaro ARM for a while, but I'm starting to have second thoughts. Here's the thing: Manjaro ARM: Good, uses KDE Plasma, but does not have good graphical support Raspbian: Extremely fast and streamlined, and with a few online themes installed, can look nice. However, many ...

X86 apps on Raspberry Pi? You've got to be joking?

I'm assuming it has to be i386 linux apps, correct?

Man, it looks like you've done some serious work here. Good job. Will try it when I can (and if I find a reason to. Personally, I find i386 to be more annoying than ARM)

Manjaro 20.02 for the RPI4 has been added to the list of PINN installations.

This is an Arch based distro with a choice of KDE plasma or XFCE desktop environments.
This is an out of date version of the OS.

We're already on 20.04: https://forum.manjaro.org/t/manjaro-arm ... sed/133374

Re: Raspbian KDE Build

What about the first boot wizard for the standard Raspbian download? Anyway I can intergrate that into my OS? Not sure what you mean about the "first boot wizard". You simply blast Buster Lite onto an SD card, boot it up, login as Pi, and then do the above. Oh, and change the Pi password. And, plea...

Raspbian KDE Build

Hello there!

I want to build a KDE Plasma Raspbian distro.

My plan is for the OS to work nearly exactly the same as normal Raspbian, but with the KDE Plasma Desktop.

What's the best way to do this. Anyone give me pointers?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Zoom Support for Raspberry Pi 4 and Ubuntu Server 19.01 Desktop

Try a different approach as I said in some other thread https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=91&t=267946&start=50 It would be better to get Zoom working on a Pi under Chromium if we could. It seems to work to some degree for some but not all. Would be nice to know why and fix that. I'...

Re: Zoom Support for Raspberry Pi 4 and Ubuntu Server 19.01 Desktop

I have found zoom to not work well with Linux. I have attempted An average budget computer with Ubuntu, and Pi4. Audio was choppy, and not great. Besides, zoom is not the best. You have to pay for it. If you don't, you only get 45 minutes. A personal favorite of mine is Google Hangouts. I haven't go...

It's really fast for me, and even supports touch on my HDMI touch screen!
Quesion though: Is there any active development going into this? I can see this having great potential as a Raspberry Pi OS, but as an amateur, no idea how to help with this...

Re: Overclock settings

Okay, tested on Manjaro XFCE...

Benchmark application says that I'm overclocking.

Settings are:

over_voltage=3
arm_freq=1900

I might need to check temperature of CPU to make sure it's fine.

Overclock settings

Hello! I've got a Raspberry Pi 4B 4GB and have seen a few posts talking about overclocking their Pi to 2Ghz. Thought about doing the same thing, when I realised they used an Argon One case. I use this: https://smile.amazon.co.uk/GeeekPi-Raspberry-40x40x10mm-Heatsinks-Compatible/dp/B07Y8DQ5ST/ref=pd_...
