Re: Don't want Raspian Buster!

Yeah I use that when I can't use noobs, but I find using that is a pain as I am not an administrator, so I always need an administrtor around, which is why I use NOOBS instead of etcher.

Re: Don't want Raspian Buster!

Right, first off, Theme and Appearance was there, and was 1/3 of the only appearance setting there were available.

Second, KDE Plasma had worked with stretch, not buster.

Re: Don't want Raspian Buster!

Right, the applications I remember not working are: Minecraft Pi QT5 settings Theme and Appearance settings The cursor with do the loading thing, but the CPU shows 0 or 1 percent usage, and then the cursor returns to normal with no application running. Anyway, that's not half my problem. I still wan...

Re: Don't want Raspian Buster!

Oh and the CPU usage would be 0% as it was trying to startup an applicatio, so proof it wasn't running properly.

Re: Don't want Raspian Buster!

Hi all! So, with the release of Raspian Buster, I thought I would give it a go with the raspberry pi 3B+ (Don't have a Pi 4 yet). I installed with noobs, as I like the dual boot feature, and rebooted. I chose desktop with recommended applications to start with, and then I ran into a wall I ran into...

Re: Gnome3 not working

Oops, I meant to say that I used Raspian Lite, and that I also used raspi-config to enable the driver.

Gnome3 not working

Hi all! I recently found an experimental OpenGL driver, and tried it with KDE plasma. Worked. I thought about trying gnome, so I then typed: sudo apt install gnome I reboot, change session, login, and then a mouse appears, but nothing else. Does anyone know what I might have done wrong, or wha the p...

Re: [GUIDE] Raspbian Lite with RPD/LXDE/XFCE/MATE/i3/Openbox/X11 GUI

Doesn't run well? I thought it ran fine. Anyway, thats also helpful to know, that xinit comes with xorg. For those who are wondering how to install KDE plasma, the command is: $ sudo apt install kde-standard comes with sddm, so no need for lightDM. If you turn the time length of animations to instan...

Re: [GUIDE] Raspbian Lite with RPD/LXDE/XFCE/MATE/i3/Openbox/X11 GUI

Brill GhostRaider, thank you so much for this post! I also want bring it out there that KDE plasma also works with this method. It also works with the animations. It is slightly sluggish on the 3B+, so only try on older models at your own risk. Also, why do we need xorg? It worked just fine when I j...
