Re: WiFi issues with KDE Plasma on Raspbian Lite

I flashed the Raspbian Lite on my sd card, and then installed KDE using- sudi apt install kde-full But I found that in the settings, I can't find WiFi options. So, everytime I need to connect with a new WiFi network, I have to use raspi-config. Also everytime I reboot it, WiFi mac address changes (...

Re: [GUIDE] Raspbian Lite with RPD/LXDE/XFCE/MATE/i3/Openbox/X11 GUI

Translated by Google People remembered that on an old PC that I had with linux installed, in the session manager where I had to enter the password, a gear icon appeared, when clicking on this icon I had the option to choose which gui to use, in Raspbian this icon does not pops up. Can Raspbian mana...

Re: 64bit and hardware accelerated video?

Manjaro KDE works very well on a Raspberry Pi 4 (speed wise anyway) it is 64bit, and I've been able to listen to music on youtube whilst doing other taks in chromium. It comes with firefox quantum as well, if that suits you best. support GPU acceleration in Firefox and media player? I think so. It ...

In raspi-config, you will need to force audio through the JACK.

You can install retroarch manually using:
sudo apt install retroarch
then install necessary emulators.

Hope this helps.

Hi, there! In case you are still interested... Manjaro ARM KDE runs perfectly fine on Pi 4B 4GB. Here's a link: https://manjaro.org/download/#raspberry-pi-4-kde-plasma See what you think. No idea whether there is video acceleration. KDE Plasma? A raspberry Pi 2B can run KDE plasma. I'm sure a very f...

Hey there! What do you mean? If you mean a terminal app, you can install several versions, like:

sudo apt-get install konsole or sudo apt install mate-terminal

Raspbian with desktop uses lxterminal

Hope this helps!

Re: Claim for an Ubuntu sub-forum

The RPF have no reason to add anything about ubuntu. As James has pointed out, Canocial have load of money, they should setup their own. Besides, ubuntu is (kind of) dead. Lubuntu went down, Xubuntu went down, I don't know many people who actually use ubuntu snappy core, or ubuntu server. The only u...

Hey, there! In order to use kde plasma on a Raspberry Pi, you either: 1) Use fedora 30 kde plasma spin 2)Install kde plasma on Raspbian lite. Raspbian full doesn't support sessions, so use something else. Also, when using kde plasma with Raspbian lite, be sure to switch off OpenGL in raspi-config (A...

I don't get it. Really don't get it. What really gets me, is that people say something like 'x86 computers are faster than Rpi's.' I don't know what I am doing different, but I own a HP mini 110, and an Acer Aspire One ZG5, and both of them are no match to a Rpi3B+, let alone an Rpi4B. I'm not doing...

Its a teeny tiny little SBC that costs under $60 USD, with a processor that is significantly outgunned by most current middle to top tier smartphones.. It is never going to run the super heavy GUI environments that are built with higher end X86 laptops/desktops as targets. Its target audience and t...

Re: Q&A topic for heavy desktop enviroments

I would add Mate to the list. Lighter than Gnome or KDE but richer set of options than LXDE. I find it easier to tweak to what I want. Runs very well on the Pi 3B+ and 4B. Ubuntu Mate runs well on the 3B+. It is not available for the 4B yet. Raspbian Lite (Buster) + Mate installs cleanly and works ...
