Re: Using raspberry pi and VPL for prototype?

Your project looks very interesting though,
But if you have the resources , it is quite easy..
First of all , to be clear, are you using the pi as a "watch"(if yes then go for a pi zero) or you have a seperate device

Re: Using raspberry pi and VPL for prototype?

Hello and welcome I dont know much about VPL but i am sure than none will really help you to get exactly what you want... I would recommend learning python as it is really powerful, but more importantly beginner friendly and easy to understand.. Plus there are thousands of tutorials,modules and foru...

Re: Is it possible to connect four pis via usb or gpio to distribute computing

Hello and welcome...
You could connect all pis to the same router through the ethernet. I believe there are libraries/modules to do this quickly..
Buut using usb or gpio would be very slow , you are better off with a single pi rather than interfacing 4 through usb/gpio

Re: 1 Watt server challange!

I would define a 'viable server' as something that just works! :)
All servers need not be massive, Just a simple pi for a simple server.
We need not think about storage, server speed, etc etc..
That would be overkill if @whiteshepherd had a simple requirement..
I would go about it in a simple way...

Re: 1 Watt server challange!

I have a pi web server on a 3b version... Since it is the 3b it consumes around 2-3 watts which is pretty good for a 3b as that is known to consume the highest power among all other versions( except 3b+) ... I do not have a pi zero yet- but i am quite sure the same setup would run on pi zero efficie...

Re: Need Help with UltraSonic Avoidance Sensor

The idea is good but i am afraid it wont be a simple task.. The tough bit is to get the car to understand which is 'x' and which is 'o' ....
Rest of it would be an easier task..

apache server forwarded to the intenet

I have a raspberry pi running an Apache server... Because port forwarding was not an option for me, I am using Serveo( https://serveo.net ) It works perfectly.However, I plan to have subdomains on my server.. Must I create more ssh tunnels for each subdomain or will it forward even those? Thanks in ...

Try multithreading... Most people use it to run two parts of a code simultaneously

Re: Access Raspberry Pi outside of local network, without port forwarding or third party software

I am late to reply but here is what one can do.
Head over to https://serveo.net
Here it uses ssh forwarding
You can use it to even forward tcp traffic through ssh. Read about it and you will understand as it is easy to use.
Don't worry, it is secure as data is encrypted

Re: Controlling GPIO pins from a webpage (using flask)

Try requests module(I have not tried it yet)

Code: Select all

import requests

link = "http://www.somerandomwebsite.com"
page = requests.get(link)
print(page.text)
#you get the web page contents hopefully

Re: Use a Potentiometer to control sound.

Hello,
Since a raspberry pi does not support analog in , It is not possible to connect the potentiometer directly to the pi.
And i am not sure whether your WM8960 Hi-Fi HAT will help you to achieve this.. You have to buy an external device
(like an ADC device)..

Re: How to Auto-Execute Python file on Startup using Raspberry Pi 3

Welcome to the Raspberry Pi forums! So basically you want to run a python file at startup right? Here is one way to do this. Open rc.local file by typing this in the terminal sudo nano /etc/rc.local add this line in the file before the 'return 0' command. sudo python /home/pi/test.py & (here /home/p...

Re: PiCamera and DC Motor using MultiProcessing

It could be the camera is opened in main process then there are created (through system's fork) two more processes with the same camera handle, and the camera library has some internal lock/protection against multiple processes accessing the camera instance. What happens if you move camera creation...

Try multithreading. I have modified your code, not sure whether it will work... import RPi.GPIO as GPIO from time import sleep from picamera import PiCamera import threading GPIO.setmode(GPIO.BOARD) GPIO.setwarnings(False) # Motor 1 uses Pin 22, Pin 18, Pin 16 Motor1A = 31 Motor1B = 33 Motor1E = 35 ...
