It must be the rain water that went inside the cover and shorted the pins

Re: Raspberry Pi Foundation Announcements ??

Actually...that's NOT the usual question. Rather--while it might be trivial (where else but the official RPF site would one expect to find important breaking news about Pis?)--it's not the sort of question that would get a thread deleted or locked. And to add to the overall information... IT news s...

Hello all, My goal is to have multiple internet connections to my raspberry ( ie through ethernet, wifi and usb)... This will increase the overall speed of the internet connection by connecting to a VPN while balancing the traffic across 3 internet connection providers Speedify does this on windows ...

Game in python

Re: Sending data from a website

Welcome to the forums. I have a solution to what you want, but this is not the most efficient method. Also i am assuming your raspberry pi is hosting the webpage through apache. You will also need php. If not, understand my methods and change the codes to suite your needs. You could always clear you...

Re: 1 Watt server challange!

That illustrates why simply putting the Pi behind a smart switch, hub, router or anything else won't reduce the power to zero simply because it's not having any packets passed to it. And, even if it were possible to reduce Pi ethernet consumption to zero, I would expect the power consumption of wha...

Re: Make a real robot

Even if we did somehow make an AI, Raspberry pi does not have enough power to run an AI as good as JARVIS..
You have to stick onto the robot that you are building(without AI) as it is completely possible

Re: Help Wanted Mates

I understand you want to strip down the os, but do not do it unless you know what you are doing, things can go wrong easily.Try installing any existing light OS right away like raspbian lite etc etc. However, let us start with your problems and questions:- 1)Power:- Since you have a raspberry pi 3 i...

Re: Help Wanted Mates

I would recommend raspbian jesse stretch for any newcomer.. It is simple to use, Plus this forum will easily solve most of your problems. You could shift to ubuntu once you get a good hang of linux OS...
Edit:- Oh my bad, I somehow got confused between jesse and stretch there

Re: Simple code to turn on/off relays from buttons on website

But the more interesting part is the fact that YOU(or me when i am away from my house) could control my relay just by heading over to http://pratt.ml/relay..
This is because my webserver is forwarded to the internet....
However i wont be running the link for you all ;)

Re: Simple code to turn on/off relays from buttons on website

I found the perfect solution that works(personally tested it).. It is a weird and inefficient method but works well. This is how i did it: 1) I am using python to read from the web and control my relay You have to install requests module, gpiozero module and time module(some are installed by default...

Re: 1 Watt server challange!

Ok, as the original poster I'm going to be more clear. The goal of this "for fun" contest is to see what kind of Raspberry Pi server we can build that will run stable on 1 watt or less (either under 1 watt all the time or averaging less than 1 watt just post which). Voltage/amps combo used don't ma...

Re: 1 Watt server challange!

Don't you realise that a typical 10/100MB ethernet connection alone uses about 1/2Watt, to send out ethernet signals? good luck with this! If the above is true( i am sure it is) then i would use a raspberry pi zero W ... I would turn off bluetooth, and wouldnt connect any extra device to ...

Nothing to do with python; you have to configure your terminal to display unicode.
So you mean that the shell does not use unicode usually.. I thought it did.

I can imagine @whiteshepherd 's reaction to this discussion that went off the original post
But now the discussion is back to the pi
