Re: GTK+ Toolkit?

If you want to program in Python then yes. If you want to program in C++ it is `libwxgtk2.8` and `libwxgtk2.8-dev`.

Re: User Defined Characters and Colours?

@mahjongg: The text console displays characters so asking if it is possible to change their bitmap patterns or how to influence the size of either the characters or the frame buffer is not „invalid”. (Checking if it really has the horse power to emulate the C64 to a decent level is next on my todo l...

Re: how to deploy NetBeans webapplication?

@PeterKlein: No the Apache has nothing to do with a Java web application server per se. To run ``*.war`` files you need a server like Tomcat or GlassFish — something that understands Servlets and Java Server Pages (JSPs).

Re: how to deploy NetBeans webapplication?

Instead of PHP which might be a bigger step from .NET or Java web applications you might look into Ruby or Python which have a more similar approach to web applications.

Re: GPIO 0.3.1a behavior strange

@zomzilla: It could also be `False` — the point is the value of the pin is read just *once* and *before* the loop. Then that value is printed over and over again endlessly. The value bound to `input` does not change magically when the state of the pin changes. BTW: ``while 1 < 2:`` is a quite compli...

@FeersumEndjinn: Just for the record lists are always populated with objects (except the empty list of course). In Python everything that can be bound to a name is an object. Including functions, classes, modules, …

Re: Compile python script to binary

@Phil_R: To make it portable‽ Python scripts *are* portable. Compiling them to system and platform specific binaries makes them *less* portable.

Re: server HTML with Python

Could you be a bit more specific? What ist „the raspberry server”? Do you mean a web server like Apache? And what exactly do you want to achieve? Generating static HTML pages via Python code to be served by the web server? Or a dynamic web application written in Python? In the latter case you do not...
