Re: Linux WIFI Not Supported by Spectrum/Charter?

I have Spectrum/Charter and don't have any internet problems with any of my Pi. I do however, own my own modem and separate router, but I still don't see where that would make a difference. Well this is news. I wonder if your service is similar. Are you in Northeast? I have several DSL modem/router...

Re: Need advice for Camera Software - live stream to TV without delay

If you add a browser to your TV, you can use MotionEyeOS.
The main interface for MotionEyeOS is web based, so once you log in, you can see the video stream.
When I do it from my PC in my home office, or even on my phone, the camera I have in my garage is almost instant for the view.

Re: Basic CCTV ?

My Suggestion would be to take a look at MotionEyeOS.
It could at least give you some ideas on what you would like to do/use.

Re: Using MotionEyeOS without saving any video?

Click on the "Movies" tab and set to "OFF".
That should stop "recording".
Also do the same thing for the "Images" tab.
This should make your setup just a streaming device.

If you are running Raspbian, you can add it from the "Suggested Programs" tab.

Re: Trying to mount network drive not working

Router/drive working. I have no problem accessing it from my Win 10 machine in the office. Actually transferred some roms earlier to a UBS stick for my retro pie build. Also, as I said in my original post, I can mount it with the Go—>Network method, I just want it to be mounted when I turn it on ins...

Re: Trying to mount network drive not working

Ok, so I tried adding the version, used 1, 2, and 3, and still got the 112 error. Even tried it, with ver 2, and omitting the -o user=xxx, pass=xxx. It asks me for the password, and then I get the 112 error. I know the path is correct, because if I leave the IP off, it tells me could not resolve addr...

Re: Home Surveillance Camera Questions

Sorry, I won't be much help. I'm on a RPI Zero W, and haven't played much with the record settings, so they are still set on the "factory" settings. Actually I have only been playing with it for a couple of days, so haven't done much but get the email notification set up and making it so I...

Re: Home Surveillance Camera Questions

Have you looked into MotionEyeOs? I just started playing with it with my NoIR V2 camera and PRI Zero W, and am able to live stream, store, video and still on motion, send an email notification of motion, watch from local network or outside, and change video codek (sp) from the interface. There are e...

Re: Trying to mount network drive not working

No I have not.
Most of the instructions I have found have been the way I was trying.
How does the fstab way work?
Again, I’m trying to permanently mount the drive so it shows up every time I boot.

Thanks

Trying to mount network drive not working

Hi all, I am trying to mount my shared network drive to my RPI 3B+. The drive is connected to my Netgear Nighthawk AC1900 router as a READYSHARE. I have done an update/upgrade and have the most current cifs-utils. I created the mnt/share/readyshare folder. When I enter sudo mount.cifs //192.168.1.1/...

Perhaps a reference to this blog post? https://www.raspberrypi.org/blog/digital-making-for-new-parents/ Maybe the guizero library has undergone a change since the blog post was published in 2017. Referring to the documentation confirms that there is no .get() method or property. https://lawsie.gith...

Re: Cannot open an openoffice spreadsheet in libreoffice on raspberry pi 3

I am able to open the file now, but I had to save it directly to the Pi, couldn't do it from my shared network drive on the router. Not a big deal, just playing around trying to see how things work. may play a little more after I get the drive to permanently mount. Actually working more on learning ...

Cannot open an openoffice spreadsheet in libreoffice on raspberry pi 3

I recently got my first RPI, a 3B+. After getting it setup, and playing a little, I was able to connect to my network drive. I tried to open an openoffice spreadsheet in libreoffice and it gave me an error. I am at work right now, and unfortunately didn't jot down what the error was because it was k...

Re: STICKY: Introduce yourself!

Hi All, I am new to the PI world. Just got my RPI3B+ the other day to start learning (re-learning) Linux and learn to code with Python. I will probably use Pi's to do some small projects, but mainly got it to refresh myself on using something other than Windows. Mainly want to do this so that I can ...
