USB drive not mounted where I need it!

I've learned a lot, but still a newbie. I am trying to make my Pi 4 a NAS and am almost there, but I need some help. When I start Raspbian Buster on my Pi4, my USB drive shows up on the desktop. According to file manager, this USB drive is mounted at /media/pi/NAS2. Samba is running, but Win10 canno...

other Pi can't see NAS

I used this guide "https://circuitdigest.com/microcontroller-projects/diy-raspberry-pi-nas-server-using-samba" to build a Pi4 Raspbian Buster NAS. My Ubuntu 19 machine sees the NAS and I can transfer files back & forth using the file manager GUI. All good. However, my windows 10 machine will not fin...

Where is my USB drive?

PI4, 4Gb, Buster:
When I plug in a USB drive, i can see it on the desktop, so I know it is mounted, right? But when I try to find it in a terminal window, I can't locate it. Thought it would be under /media/ but I don't see it. Can someone give me the path, please?

Windows open & immediately close

When I click the "file" icon in the tool bar at the top of the screen, the window opens but will not remain open. It displays for about half a second and then disappears. The same thing happens when I click on the USB storage icons "32GB Volume" on the desktop. Other windows, ie Terminal and Chromiu...

Start ExpressVPN automatically

I have learned a lot, but not enough. I got my Express VPN working and can start it from terminal on the PI3b. Now I want to have it start automatically at bootup.

Can I just add the command I use in Terminal -- “expressvpn connect” to one of the config files? Duh—which one?

Re: Controlling 5 Volt RGB LED Strip

Do you have a multimeter? If so, you should be able to power up the LED strip from a separate 5v power supply, and insert the multimeter in the power leads and read the milliamp draw. That way you could know if it exceeds the sinking capability of the PI USB. (Of course switching it on and off might...

VPN installation

There is a lot of info on the greater web about installing a VPN on Raspbian, but I have not been successful with any of the suggestions/tutorials I have tried. Soo, I am coming to the official forum for help. (Being a 75-year old NOOB is probably part of the problem, so please keep it simple.) Can ...

USB drive filesystem question

I have just gotten started with my Raspberry Pi. I have the desktop up and functioning, but I realize I have a long way to go and at 75, I don't learn as fast as I did years ago :) I tried copying a .mp3 file I downloaded to the Pi to a USB drive. I want to move that file to Windows 10. It is on the...
