Large partition sizes, Raspbian and Windows

I’m trying to understand how the Linux/Raspbian operating system works with regard to the extended partition (s) beyond the boot partition. Since windows can’t see and deal with the (. ) partitions, I cant load them into Windows to copy or delete data there. If I format the SD card so it is usable i...

HDMI displays, HDMI connection and touch screen control

I’ve made progress with my small portable music player, with the core of the player built. This uses an RPi Zero W with DAC and headphone amp daughter board total height of 3/4”/29mm. So far so good. Next step is to find a small display to use with it. I have some links to earlier discussions about ...

Re: If HATS have GPIO conflict can this be resolved?

What do you want to display on the screen? if you want a menu system for your music player and Not an interface to the OS, one of the small nextion screens may be of interest, you program the screen with its displays via a PC app and an SD card, and communicate with the screen once programmed (dete...

Re: If HATS have GPIO conflict can this be resolved?

If you need to use two HATS with an RPi, is there a way to resolve or remap the GPIO pins to get the two HATS to work? The application is a small, portable music player I'm working on. I've ordered a Pi-DAC+ and a Pi Zero W. I'm also experimenting with a Pi 3B+. I want to include a small touch scre...

Re: If HATS have GPIO conflict can this be resolved?

Looking at the R Pi zero, there is no video ribbon, only a ribbon camera input. The best thing for a Pi zero would be to use the HDMI port for video to an LCD with an HDMI output, so the ribbon option doesn't apply to the Zero. HDMI might resolve all this. The problem is, there doesn't seem to be a ...

Re: 3.5 inch touchscreen with ribbon cable connector and NO other connectors?

Would this work? http://duinorasp.hansotten.com/3-5-lcd-tft-touch-screen-display-on-aliexpress/ The screen connects via the GPIO !! Right, but with just a few pins. I’m wondering if the card could be offset from the GPIO header and bridged in with jumper wires? This would leave room on the GPIO hea...

Re: 3.5 inch touchscreen with ribbon cable connector and NO other connectors?

By support, it wasn't meant you won't get help should things go wrong, it was meant that it will not work as the Pi itself does not support anything other over DSI than the official touchscreen which is only sold in a 7 inch variety. (although there seems to be one 5 inch board using DSI claiming c...

I have a 7 inch monitor that uses a ribbon cable. What is the technical term for that type of ribbon cable?

3.5 inch touchscreen with ribbon cable connector and NO other connectors?

I need a 3.5 inch touchscreen for a project, and would prefer a ribbon cable connection. I'd also like it to have no GPIO or HDMI port. The idea is to make a portable music player that is as small and compact as possible. Has anyone seen such a display?

24 bit * 196000 * 2 = aprox 9.4mbit/s raw data (uncompressed wav for example) which is then 1.12MB/s, I think that is well inside the read capabilities of most SD cards.
Excellent, thank you for the numbers!

Has anyone done high res audio or video using a Pi Zero?

Reading music files from SD micro versus USB stick?

One project I'm working on is a Raspberry Pi based iPod-type player. I originally planned to use an m2SATA card to store the digital music files, and may still in the future. But for now it appears that the Pi can read the music files from a USB stick attached to one of the Pi's internal USB ports. ...
