I seem to remember downloading from this sit an addon for rasbian, i cannot find it as I cannot remember the name of it, but a member here put the link to it on a post for someone. user pi refused command without using 'sudo' before command?
I don't know what I've done wrong but I seem to have lost permissions for user 'pi' to remove a file or folder without using 'sudo' before the command. From root I run ls and get a listing (as I should - see below), and running ls -lr it lists permissions for all, I'm the sole user and thought 'pi' ...

Re: Problems with External 4TB HDD
I can see the raspberry pi from windows explorer and I can also see a folder 'cctv1' inside it. But when I right click on it and select to map a network drive, I get the error message 'Windows cant find '//Raspberrypi/cctv1', check network or spelling. So I think it is a neuwork problem somewhere, b...

Re: Problems with External 4TB HDD
Have you tried mounting the share on Linux just to test it? mount -t cifs \\\\127.0.0.1\\CCTV1 /media -o user=sambauseridhere, password=sambauserspasswordhere Have you run sudo testparm to check the syntax and sanity of your samba config? BTW, I'd create a special mount point sudo mkdir /CCTV1 and c...

Problems with External 4TB HDD
I have connected up a new HDD (info below), but I cannot see it on the network and my CCTV Cameras (obviously) cannot write to it. I can drill down to it through a putty window and write to it that way, can anyone help me see it through windows 10 by linking it as a network drive? Thanks. Here's all...

Re: Swapping HDD for Larger Size in NAS
Thanks for your replies (All) FYI I only have a single caddie for external drive, so just swap HDD's? I'm not bothered about copying the images over to the new drive, so no problems there. The Operating system is on the Pi itself. I am the sole owner, and I log in as pi but obviously have changed th...

Swapping HDD for Larger Size in NAS
I have set up a NAS on my pi but am finding the HDD is a little too small (500GB), is it possible to just swap it for a larger drive (4TB) as setting it up in the first place was for testing purposes only. My pi is connected to an external Drive Device (made by inateck - powered from mains) so I can...
