Re: Trouble with motion

When run as a daemon motion creates the directory when it doesn't exist: case "$1" in start) if check_daemon_enabled ; then if ! [ -d /var/run/motion ]; then mkdir /var/run/motion fi chown motion:motion /var/run/motion (from /etc/init.d/motion) As a daemon it runs fine but starting it from the comma...

Re: Trouble with motion

Getting further with the package. If I am saving files and movies it will soon crash out with IO/errors but does last longer if all stopped and just using it to post frames to the web server every 2 seconds. That may point to a hardware/power/setup problem. Run motion once (with sudo) in non-daemon...

Re: Wheezy 2012-9-18 locking up usb and networking

My (headless) Pi also freezes after 6 to 12 hours of uptime (sometimes in the middle of the night). There are no visible anomalies in the syslog. It is not just the network (wifi) that freezes, all LEDs that usually show activity stay either on or off, the LCD keychain display (lcd4linux driven) fre...

I found what I was looking for. The package's name is triggerhappy and it fits perfectly. My order for an USB keypad is on its way.

Re: booten ohne tastatur

Re: Headless keyboard entry - how?

Thanks for the quick replies. On that level it is clear, but - how do I do this (e.g. with a bash script)? How can I tell a script to loop and wait for input? I guess I can set up a loop with the 'key' command and have if-branches depending on pressed keys but how do I wrap this in a session-less sc...

Headless keyboard entry - how?

My Raspberry Pi runs headless. How could I have a script running constantly without logged-in users which starts other scripts depending on pressed keys (e.g. from an USB keypad or a Makey Makey). I am able to have a bash script running using my login session but that isn't what I want to accomplish...

I put together very crude script that pulls everything together and installs build 1184 of lcd4linux with mpd plugin. Also includes patch that fixes libdpf dependency and timer issue and provides scalable fonts on AX206 based frames. More information here http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?9,2435,932...
