Re: RISCOS Chuckie Egg

There's something wrong with Risc OS on the Pi regarding double buffering and/or vsync! But no one on the Risc OS Open forums seems very interesting in testing, confirming or fixing this :( If it'd be Linux, I could somehow tweak backend libraries, etc, but I'm totally lost with this (otherwise AWE...

Re: Mouse/screen problems with latest image

An update to my above post: I've tried several options in my config.txt file, but nothing solves the problem. The only way I can use this latest RiscOs image is to comment out my overscan settings and lose completely the rightmost and leftmost icons on the taskbar (they still exist, but are off-scr...

Re: Can't Start, Won't Start

Is it just the ROM image you have downloaded and installed or the distro image?

Short is good! Yes. It already does support these. You have a problem with your configuration.
Seek help at the ROOL forum.

Re: RISC OS on Raspberry Pi

I am using the rom image from rool's rom image releases page dated 19/9/12. It also was the same with rom image dated 18/9/19. I replaced the start.elf and riscos.img in the alpha distro dated 8/8/12 with them. To be able to select anything else other than the default screen resolution, you need to...

Re: RISC OS on Raspberry Pi

I have also tested the latest riscos.img with start.elf created date 18/9/12. The desktop boots up with a screen resolution of 640,480 with 16 colours and the only screen resolution option which is available I can use is 800,600 with 16million colours. Are you planning to add some more (higher) 4:3...

Added to the rom today I believe.

Re: Problems with screen size

To be honest that I picked upon the post from the new posts list rather than the RISCOS specifically and the respose was almost a stock generic answer. I guess I need to check out the RISCOS capabilities of the RPi before Ijump in again (My bad) ;) That's ok Jim :) Please do I think you migh...

Re: Risc OS set-up

Yes, or what I've done - rename it to x!StrongEd. I'd love to know why !StrongEd takes over alias$@RunType FFF when !Edit has already been booted (being earlier in the alphabet), but I suppose I'll have to live with not knowing! !StrongEd claims the file type run variable because it is filer booted...

Re: Totally new to RISCOS-Books?

I have looked at files on the SD and I can't find the Self extracting HardDisc4.util file. You should not see HardDisc4.util as this not connected to the distro, what you should see is a !Boot application and and whole load of other directories. How did you write the image to the card and what are ...

Re: Totally new to RISCOS-Books?

I have used the Risc OS Distribution from this site. http://www.svrsig.org/RISCOS_Distro.zip but where on the SD Card do I need to put the hard disc image file and how to set it up so that write my work onto the SD card. Do I need to undertake the length process outlined on this page http://www.ris...
