Re: Latest Order and Shipping update from RS & Allied
Hi Everyone, I’ve set up this thread to update you on our latest order and shipping status. We have been advised that our next batch of approximately 40,000 Raspberry Pi’s will now be arriving during September, with further deliveries expected in October. This delay is due to the very high level of...

Re: Order and Shipping update from RS & Allied
Well 1. RS could have a lot more orders than Farnell and/or 2. RS might not be ordering in in the same quantities as Farnell Its a combination of the 2 points that's causing the problems and the lack of any public information that's giving them a bad rep. Simon Simon, I agree with you on everything...

Re: General RS Posts
My order with RS went smoothly. Really? Could you please give us some details? Date of order, accessories ordered, how long it took to receive the pi, estimated delivery wait when you ordered, and approximate order number would be very helpful. A lot of people are waiting for a pi from RS (myself i...

Re: Order and Shipping update from RS & Allied
I ordered with Allied July 25. My order number is 250024****. Yes, that is correct. A 10 digit code in the 2.5 millions while others are in the hundred thousands. Does Allied have a separate order number system from RS? Are there just that many orders? Did the order number assignment system c...

Re: Ordered via Newark in the USA
I'm not trying to be hateful, I'm just trying to offer advice. When I ordered my pi, I clicked on the link on the foundation's home page. This took me to an RS site. I had a choice of US or International. I chose US because I live in the US. I was immediately redirected to the Allied Electronics sit...

Re: Ordered via Newark in the USA
Wow, you guys don't know how jealous I am! Ordered mine for Allied Elec July 26. Estimated delivery time on website: 18 weeks. Estimated delivery time in email: None (which is strange considering most people got a delivery time in their email). I'm really disappointed in everything about RS and Alli...

Re: Accessories when ordering
Yes the guy above me is right about what you need, but DO NOT order from RS or Allied, ESPECIALLY with accessories. They are taking much longer than Farnell and adding accessories to the your order would make it much worse. I highly suggest ordering the pi alone from Farnell, and then buying the thi...

Re: Order and Shipping update from RS & Allied
Well, I ordered my Pi on July 25th from Allied. I hadn't done any research on which company would be faster, I assumed they would be about the same (*slams face into desk*). The estimated delivery date on the website at the time I ordered was 18 weeks  . The only thing is, most people say the...

Re: Porting Android
If you need people to help test, I'd be happy to help. Me and my friend are very interested in running Android on a pi for some projects.
