Re: Logo ideas
non-sense! the way I look at it my art skills are so weak anyway, that the best thing I can do is throw my ideas up there and let someone who's better at art duplicate/modify it, give a courteous nod my way for inspiration and win the contest

Re: Logo ideas
<t>Okay so I really wanted to do a version of my original idea except with the pi symbol fully made out of the druplets (ukscone did a similar version to illustrate an modification to my original idea). I literally did this on the back of a napkin during lunch at work, took a pic of it with my camer...

(Not that I'm bitter about that)

Re: Power supply
ah, you beat me to the post! That should work, just make sure you have a means of "float" charging the batteries, even solar with a continuous charge will run the risk of overcharging the batteries to... unfortunate ends.

Re: Power supply
<r>Just as a side note, be very careful if you're not using a charger designed to charge this battery. Improper charging of a battery can make it... explode. On the other hand if you've done this kind of thing and could display a good circuit board that would be to charge the batteries while there's...

Re: Power supply
<t>Yes, you could theoretically get that out of the batteries, however make sure to hook your batteries up in parallel! (Hook the + terminal to the + terminal together and the - terminal to the - terminal). When batteries are hooked up in parallel the provide the same voltage but a cumulative mAh. T...

i can still remember the compuserve logo and the beeping noise from the analog modem
I actually have that analog modem sound as a ringtone (I had to make it) I use it to identify my tech savvy friends.

Re: Logo ideas
<r>Actually from what I've seen in the computer industry is that there are usually two logos one that features a wide arrange of colors and shading (even some gloss to make it shiney) and one that's a basic two-three tone image. That's not to say it's black and white. I rarely see black and white lo...

Re: How would you use a Raspberry Pi device?
<r>Not a bad idea. You could go one step further and have them literally be their own isolated network complete with AD authentication, SMTP, if you had a web design class they could provide an intranet, if not you could still have each student do a simple bio page on themselves and set the DNS to g...

Re: No programming skills
<r>From a system's administrator standpoint, if you want to learn how to just make the computer do stuff (especially remotely) learning some scripting is a pretty good idea. Windows uses WSH. It's not quite full on programming, but it gets your foot in the door while at the same time giving you imme...

<r>So I thinking that with the forums growing and there getting to be a lot of information gathering in different places a sticky designed to help newcomers would be pretty useful. If such a thread were started what sort of information would you considered to be the most useful? I.E. what do you con...

Once we've got stickies and PMs, I'm thinking we'll have everything we need.
I certainly can't think of anything else I use in a forum. Which hey, no more worries about migrating! No sense re-inventing the wheel if this works right?

<r>I'm Matthew. I've gone by abishur online ever since the 90s when AOL was at it's height. I got it from 2nd chronicles I think. The part where it says, the son of, the son of, the son of. I was just sick and tired of having 20 numbers behind my name so I found an obscure name that looked kinda coo...
