Re: Design flaw? Polyfuses for USB current limiting

No wanting to hijack a thread and I will be glad to have this moved if appropriate but our org is having similar/same issues with USB on rev2 Pis. ... A USB "cut-out" issue is causing problems with our install on rev2s (no F1 or F3...but still the 47.5 C32 polyfuse) which I know is power related bu...

I've split this into a new topic since it was a little off topic in the old thread Make will take all the code in the directory and compile the program. Doing a quick look at the tutorial makes me think that the table you're referencing lets you change pin numbers, but lacks the logic for key additi...

Nope. I set up a Samba server on my Pi and got really bad speeds. I'm sure running something else on it would have made it much worse. If you want to do those type of things your going to need much more of a powerful server. Sorry! I'm curious to know what distro you're using and what version of th...

Re: CPU Gets very hot and cuts out while booting

My first inclination is that it sounds like there is a mechanical defect, I'd have your friend do an RMA to get a pi that works.

My second is to ask if you're powering your pi through the microusb port and if so what the voltage readings at TP1 and TP2 are

Are you using the GUI or the bash prompt? If you're using the gui then provided it's a standard chipset then there should be a configuration utility right on the desktop that will scan for and help you connect to a wireless access point.

Re: Back up power supply

Well it depends on what you're really looking for. The most direct route would be grab a UPS from any major retailer. It's hard to imagine a UPS that couldn't power your Pi for an hour by itself. Once you add a laptop to the mix then things start getting iffy. If you want the more DIY route I tend t...

Re: Mupen64Plus - N64 Emulator for the Pi

personally, I think that if there were ever to be a version that even remotely came close to working, someone would have to basically make it from the ground up to use the GPU powers for 100% of the processes that can use the GPU and only use the CPU for things that absolutely could not use the GPU....

So is the issue that the pi is permanently blocked, or is the issue that it's blocked late at night? This is actually something outside the RPFs domain. While I personally am not a fan of Fedora (no offense ;-) ) I am a fan of options and would love to see a good release of fedora on the pi. Ultimately, however, it's up to the Fedora peps.
