<t>I currently have an old netgear router i've been looking to do something similar one. didn't know about dead drops( very cool and just found out there is one not far from where I live). but the levels of interface that a ras-p system could deliver would be amazing. Re: Raspberry Custom Encolsures
The Raspberry Pi is an amazing idea. even better that it being shipped as a pcb with rubber feet.( or at least I am on the understanding it is)
This gives the perfect opportunity to make your very own enclosure. I like the idea of encasing it in clothing. what about you?
regards Gee

<t>Joking aside I have butchered several of these light units they all contain a NiMH battery and solar cells with a voltage pump. given the solar cell is next to as useful as a chocolate teapot but the availability of the rechargeable battery\'s are without question. with something like a 7805 of m...

Re: Duracell 5 Hour Portable USB Charger/Battery pack
With a bit of side ways thinking you could build your very own for about 5-6 pounds re-engineering poundland solar garden lights and a usb phone adapter. which I find far more fun that buy something off the peg.

I know it is abit late in the day for this but is it possible that the board could have headers (pined or unpined) for external regulated supplies without the wattage overhead.

Re: How would you use a Raspberry Pi device?
something that small and cheap I like the idea of soft electronics I think I would sow it inside some baggy jeans with a in arm mounted lcd and some sort of finger operated HID (human interface device). lots of leds have to be used on the gpio ports.

Re: Seriously? This "box" wont have a case to it?!?
For all my electrical projects I has to be poundland every time. I have that many Tupperware project-boxes it is getting mad and you can decorate them whatever way you like. excuse the pun but I think the raspberry pi board as a whole need alot of thinking outside the box.
