Re: Raspbmc Gives different mac address to raspbian

Actually it does exist programs like 'macchanger'. With it you can decide your own mac-address of your NICs. (Still in the default syntax xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx) But is seems strange to have it set the default MAC to different OS. Nothing that do any harm, just if you like to setup Custom IP-lists tied t...

Re: Mounting a Drobo

So the volume of your device is presenting itself wrong, did you manage to mount it anytime or did you get the error the very first time. I would recommend you to unplug it and then replug it, at the same time you have an shell up and do an dmesg before and after to check it finds it correctly, and ...

Re: Suggestions for memory allocation

I make a guess that you got the B model with 512 MB of RAM, as for deciding the split of the memory. I'd recommend you to experiment with it, mainly cause it is so easy. Just use raspi-config . 64 MB for GPU is about what you'd need is my guess. The rest goes for the OS and your programs. As for BOI...

Re: Mounting ext4 USB with rw permissions

Well on the mount part I'd say you should look at fstab (/etc/fstab) I assume it's a already is an topic here for editing it. Otherwise here is some links for it. http://www.tuxfiles.org/linuxhelp/fstab.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fstab While editing it you'd of course need to be root Cheers C...

Re: Mounting a Drobo

I'm guessing you are in text-console, if you type dmesg you should be seeing a lot of information, and at the end you'd probably will see some like. [timestamp] [sdc] 4030464 512-byte logical blocks: (2.06 GB/1.92 GiB) [timestamp] [sdc] Write Protect is off .... [sdc] (Is the device 'name' for mount...

Re: First time setup

How long is long?!
Well I guess by now you'd be done. The amount of time of writing the image to the SD card depends on the writing speed of the card, varies by the manufacture of the card and the size of the image. I'd probably say ~10 min and you'd be done.

Using mobile as a screen.

Hi! I have been experimenting with my phone to view my output of RPi, so I did some reading and finaly found what I was looking for. Basic: Mobile with SSH connection to Eternet, (Internet). Raspberry PI with connection to network, and a keyboard. So the hook up looks like this: Raspberry Pi is conn...
