Re: Pi not rebooting after power failure

No idea why they do not boot after a brown out but a few ideas that may keep them going. 1) Hats with batteries on them are available. 2) Look to use the internal watchdog timer to reset the Pi 3) Look to use a Hat with an external watchdog timer on it 4) Build your own watchdog circuit using a 555 ...

How about just working through the questions rather than jumping around it makes life hard for folk helping as they can be duplicating questions and contradicting as we do not know why you are doing things.

I’m not following two threads - in fact I’m off for a shower

Re: making pi as hotspot

To set the dhcp range change
dhcp-range=192.168.4.2,192.168.4.20,255.255.255.0,24h
Have a careful read of the linked page.

As for no password - not a good idea so I’m not going there

Re: How to "auto run" an executable file from rc.local ?

Files in that folder are normally owned by www-data as that’s the limited user for web services.

I would rethink the location / security plan and not mixed root with www-data as it will turn round and byte you one day if something has root access via web service. Not good.

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 boot time > 2 minutes

Did you check the SHA value of your download vs the web value - it may have been corrupted. As above - did you verify the write on the SD card? It could be a duff one? Rather than jump in changing everything I would just start with a plain copy of the Lite OS (on a new card) and ADD the static detai...

Re: Copying Sensorpush Sensor Temperatur and Humidity

Main issue you will have is creating the app on the mobile. It’s highly unlikely (and possibly illegal) to match the device data transfer to use their app but there are many ways to simulate that. As you are new to the forum (welcome by the way) and I guess the Pi, I would start at the basics. Hardw...

Re: Sending file over FTP from python script

Google the ftplib module - simplest way to link. ftp = FTP('ftp.example.com') ftp.login('user','password') Will get you logged in - you can use anonymous if needed but I would not. After that you can change directory (if not set by user or using root) and then store the file ftp.cwd('FTP server fold...

Re: Not able to share files to a portable drive on my Raspberry Pi.

And by large files you mean 4GB+ size files ?? exFat should not have an issue with files larger the 4Gb, Fat32 yes but not exFat. FAT32 tops out with files at 4 GB in size and hard drives that are 8 TB or less. ExFat is silly with 16EB files and 128PB volumes  The only box I’ve played with Ex...

Re: Dual redundancy raspberry PI

I wonder if its the test set as the A2 was slower on the 3B but about equal on the 3B+

Not tried it one in a Zero though.

In my mind, they are not worth the extra (esp as my cameras do not handle the A2 cards as anything special).

Re: safe protocol for cheap 433MHz transceiver

There is a fundamental issue with sending data between computers known as ‘The Two Generals’ problem. For a great example see https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=IP-rGJKSZ3s (Sorry mobile link) Do not get disheartened by the video though as a little bit of care will get your data there. I would use the vi...

Re: Pi3 finds other WiFi hubs but not mine

I would try a new card loaded directly with Raspbian (maybe even Stretch) just to see if it’s that card playing up for some reason. See if changing the router channel helps It would not hurt to power off the router and power it back on again. Does the BT hub support a legacy mode (1-2-3). The EE ver...
