I am see Example and Excute but that messaging "RPI4 not Support"

You need to tell us much more info about what you are trying to do.
Where is the example you are using ?

Another dangerous item from MagPi

Your tweet of a Pi with a relay board with exposed mains connections is really irresponsible. Do you not have anyone on your editorial staff that has a clue about Health and (Electrical) Safety ? :(

That doesn't sound right. It should work twin headed "out of the box".

What exactly did you change in config.txt ?

Why the new forum account?
Because the old one had been given a holiday from the forums and "pro" thought they could sneak past the rule by creating a new account?

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 temperature

I switched tactics. I stopped, and then disabled the service that controls the fan. Now it just runs continuously when the Pi is on. My temps are now around ~40c with moderate use. Half what I was getting with just the heat sink. And more constant with no swings up and down. :D But only a 3% change...

https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/v4.15/gpu/drm-kms.html I'm not sure why you think that posting a link to that huge page of kernel developers documentation is supposed to help explain things to non-kernal developers ? There is a growing problem here, that those in the know about the new graphics har...

So all work we do will now be on (F)KMS/DRM/MESA. I don't believe there is anything called "(F)KMS" ! Is it KMS or FKMS or Full KMS or Fake FMS you are talking about ? Someone needs to come up with better names ! And I thought the hardware still did openGLES 3.0 so saying "but the 3D is driven by t...

Re: RPi 4 2GB - Cant set gpu mem above 600 / black screen

## gpu_mem GPU memory in megabytes, sets the memory split between the CPU and GPU; the CPU gets the remaining memory. The minimum value is `16`; the maximum value is `192`, `448`, or `944`, depending on whether you are using a 256MB, 512MB, or 1024MB Pi. The default value is `64`. For the Raspberry...

I've done a fresh install on an sd-card and found out something more about the problem.... The good thing is that I've been able to take a screen grab with the gimp where the cursor now shows up 8-) The bad thing is that the cursor is shown in the wrong place (except for one specific case) Th...

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 Thread - general discussion

I was using ps and it was't there. So I enabled it and then it was there so I know I was looking in the right place :-) Having it running made no difference to the cursor issue (or to black corners around the tool tip popups). If I can find a spare SD card I'll do a fresh install and see what happen...

Can't think of anything else that may be different. But those black pixels around your tooltips make it look like an older version of xcompmgr is running. That and all the different theming makes me suspect our environments are quite different. OK, well it's all pretty much as standard out of th eb...

I'm running with FKMS enabled and no compositing manager running, if that helps at all.
It would be helpful if you could explain how exactly you achieve that configuration. For those of us who aren't working with this stuff every day the acronym soup is hard to deal with.

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 Thread - general discussion

You can remove the 'untested' component and downgrade the relevant packages. If it causes other problems it would be good to know because it's likely to hit the main repo soonish. Sadly it's made no difference as you can see ... The cursor should be showing over one of the two "Continue" buttons. S...

I'm not sure if this is Pi4 or Raspbian Buster specific but I don't have a Pi3 set up right now... The GIMP even has a "show the cursor" tick box but it makes...

Re: picfan - A PWM cooling fan controller written in C

Hi Peter, at the moment I'm using a cheap 30mm "Pifan" it is doing the job nicely of keeping a Pi4 cool. One reason why I didn't use the gpio-fan overlay is because it didn't seem to handle GPIO. I probably can still improve the control, as it is challenging to respond quickly enough, but not overr...

A couple of questions.... What type of fans have you tried this with ? Did you use any external circuit to control the fan ? I'm currently using a fan-shim and controlling it with the kernel device configured with "dtoverlay=gpio-fan,gpiopin=18,temp=65000" ISTR the Pimoroni guys saying their fan doe...

The 3B+ with overclocking runs easily at 1,5Ghz, same speed as the 4B stock.
And about half the performance

I am 100% sure RPT / RPF are aware of the situation, suggesting otherwise is disrespectful.
I wonder if he has the same issues with the Intel/AMD CPUs in every Desktop PC ? Or is it a case of "out of sight , out of mind " ?
