Re: RPi Cam Web Interface -- Split off a stream to send to YouTube?

And this is where I have hit a hard stop: how do I structure the cvlc command to transcode the camera's preview stream into a format appropriate for YouTube? I'm nowhere near enough the expert. cvlc http://localhost/cam_pic_new.php --sout '#trancode{ ????? }:std{ ????? ,dst=rtmp://a.rtmp.youtube.co...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface -- Split off a stream to send to YouTube?

I'd also like to split the stream somehow so I can see the *same* live video through the RPi Cam Web Interface as before (capturing video and still images, etc.), but also pipe/tee the video stream to YouTube ... It looks like VLC ought to be able to do this.... I think you're on to something. A co...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

I found the instructions to make the new user: sudo htpasswd /usr/local/.htpasswd newusername, which I did I then found that I needed to create the userLevel file, which I did by editing the Example file, and then saving it with the new name. I added both the admin and the new user. I can log into ...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

Hmmm that definitely looks better than mine. After trial and error I realised I need to screw the camera in, which is nearly impossible to do without doing damage, because none of mine came with that handy tool. I bought another camera just to try it and it has the same quality issues. I need to ge...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

My problem is I thought the streaming images would be a little bit better quality. I am not sure if this is related, but I am also getting a problem where the camera freezes and I get an mmal: mmal_vc_component_enable: failed to enable component: ENOSPC error ... The freezing is probably unrelated....

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

I created two shell scripts in the macros folder, which take the two latest files of the media folder and change the prefix. (Two latest because of the thumbnail file) It actually works fairly well, even combined with my GPIO-trigger python script. BUT sometimes it doesn't change the name (sometime...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

I wrote a python script that sends an 'im' command to FIFO when a certain GPIO pin receives a signal and it works. However I want that the pictures that are taken that way have a different file name: e.g. from "im_0030_20200214_105335.jpg" to "trig_0030_20200214_105335.jpg". As a first step I want ...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

What I really want is simply a remote camera that I can use to check the state (open/closed) of a garage door somewhere close – but not visible from a window, say. There is no need for motion detection. I just want a button in a browser window that I can click and see whether the door is open or cl...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

How can I redirect the video output and the entire web interface to my custom website url instead of it being on http://ipAddress:port/subfolder? Your string formatting isn't right in the annotate.write command. Try something like:

Code: Select all

annotate.write ('temp = {}'.format((data*0.02) - 273.15))

I have setup a pi zero W and V1 camera with RPI cam web interface and it's running at 972p 25fps, this seems stable without motion detection. Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

Is there a way to restart the camera process from the CLI after it has crashed WITHOUT rebooting? if start.sh doesn't restart it, I don't know if there's a way to do it without rebooting. Do you know why it's crashing in the first place? I've got systems that run for weeks/months with no interventi...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

just a short reply: starting all over again with the most recent raspbian lite buster and not using sudo while starting install.sh solved the issue. Thanks for the hint Glad it's working! Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

I looked at the documentation section 3.4.1 "How do I change the path for video images and pictures" and that suggested a bind mount. However a bind mount still updates the files on the original location (just providing a duplicate on a second mount point). So I thought I would set up a mount point...

Hi, I am running this software on a RPi Zero, the stream is fantastic but is it possible to also display the live preview in 1080 or 720 at the same time through the HDMI port? I'm not sure what you're after - if you want to start a recording from the command line you can do it with:

Code: Select all

echo ca 1 > FIFO11
You'll also have to stop it in some appropriate way, of course.

RPi Cam Web Interface worked fine for almost 2 years. However, with the upgrade to Buster, it does not any longer. It's not really recommended to upgrade to Buster w/o re-installing RPi-CWI.
