I have been playing with the Pi and LED's I am experimenting with an Adafruit LED BiColour Backpack using i2c. Look at Adafruit tutorials. Just a suggestion.

I supplied the Gertduino with the Blinky Larson Scanner program installed.
First thing to do is read any FAQ's and disable safe boot mode on your Pi. And then follow Gordon's help at

So. What is the real time clock on the Gertduino good for? A watchdog and or wake up system, but not keeping the Pi's clock up to date after power downs? I am obviously confused. Not all Pi's are connected to the internet and an NTP server for some applications, so I guess I'm asking can the RTC on...

OK fair enough. Thanks for the replies. The BeagleBone Black under a separate 5V supply does run at 1GHz Processor speed and has DDR3 ram. The Pi can be clocked at that speed to. I had the waterfalls running. But the Pi would lock up if tasked too much. I also tried monitoring Airnav frequencies in the 1090 Mhz band, so called secondary radar. This worked well. But the PI was struggling.
