Re: Argon One Replacement Daemon

Okay I just test the overlay on a fresh image and it works as expected so maybe this is an issue with retropie images I know on some other OS's I had to run extra commands to enable I2C I'll need the information from you to figure that out. Also if you don't mind can you please run the following com...

Re: Argon One Replacement Daemon

@poonab, Lets start with the config.txt can you post that and lets look for anything that might be giving us an issue. Last time it was an incompatible overlay the values your getting are the same. The logs are very helpful. I'm also interested in the error you got without the dtparam=i2c_arm=on Tha...

Re: Seeking interest and support in a game designed for Rpi

In the words of James Veitch "I'm in!"

I agree the raspberry Pi is a very powerful bit of kit and your project reminds me of the old demo scene pushing the hardware to the limit ideals. I look forward to seeing what you can come up with.

Good luck with the project!

I thought about another way to grab values from the daemon, this might be of interest to others as well Current Fan Speed echo $(( 16#$(xxd -l 1 /dev/shm/argonone | cut -d " " -f2 ) )) Output Example 0 Current Temperature echo $(( 16#$(xxd -s1 -l 1 /dev/shm/argonone | cut -d " " ...

Re: Argon One Replacement Daemon

@EctoOne, Welcome to the forums and thank you for trying out my project. I shall try to answer your questions Is there a way to get the fan speed and display it in a conky widget for example? It was using cpuburn to stress test my pi to see if the daemon was working. And since that pi is kind of hid...

Re: *your* opinions on init ? ( osx , bsd* , linux , ect??? )

Personally I do work with buildroot so choosing the right init for the project is important. I like to stick with busybox's init for it's simplicity and space saving. However if I need something more powerful I would choose systemd. Also I do a lot with initramfs trying to build small environments s...

Re: The Raspberry Pi 400 thread!

The only test I could think of would be a speed test. However I'm far from an expert in this, what I can say for sure is that even though the signal says it's not as strong I can watch full 1080P HD from YouTube without issue. So I'm only seeing that the little applet says the signal is lower but th...

Are you using 2.4 or 5 GHz? I'm just curious since my 2.4 GHz signal is always strong. My router is maybe 1or 2 meter away just across the room.

Re: Argon One Replacement Daemon

../argononed/argononed.h: No such file or directory The argonone-applet directory is subdirectory of argononed. That's the way I understand it. You need to clone this repo and the companion repo in the same directory as there are shared files between them So both in your argononed dir Is that what ...

Re: USB3 flash drive slow according to Raspberry Pi Diagnostics

It is possible to use a pen drive and get good performance you just have to find one. geerlingguy has done testing with drives and posted the results here it's not a big list but he gets good results with that Corsair GTX 128 GB USB 3.1 . I was looking for something of a database with known good per...

I have tried a Kingston DT50 The performance is horrendous these drives are no good for your OS to run from I thought I had a fake drive or something but apparently they are just slow.

And there was the problem this whole time! in the config.txt dtoverlay=w1-gpio This Overlay is conflicting with the Argon One they both use the same pin!! Re: Argon One Replacement Daemon

So it sounds like your case's fan board has an issue. Specifically with the button interface. The fan I assume is working properly? If you don't care about the the power button to turn off and reset it will still force power off create a file in the argononed folder call it powerbutton.patch copy in...

Re: How can I schedule a shut down every day at xxAM?

I have a raspberry Pi I use as a server and the drives are external. The server is up 24/7 and they will only spin up if they are accessed, then after some idle time they spin down into a sleep mode. The only thing is you can schedule a Pi to power down but your going to have to go back in there and...

Did the stock scripts work properly? What about the power button? Did that work as it should? I almost wonder if you've got a defective unit. I was sceptical about the success of this project as the Appstore that use to exist is long gone. However I noticed a few YouTubers have mentioned this project.

It's good to see you preserved through I hope you and your new team are able to keep this going.
