I suppose that cpuburn-a7 is for Cortex-A72.
No, I think it is for the old Cortex-A7 that the first version of the Pi2 used.
Ah.Ok.
I will use cpuburn-a53.

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 temperature

The airflow on noctua 8x8cm is x5 and the size blown all the pi board. Is more big than the pi, of course. Its not the total airflow I was referring to. If you look at the fan, there is a large circular lump in the middle? Which is the motor of course. Clearly no airflow can be produced by that part...

After a lot of testing noctua fans 5V PWM controlled by Noctua control fan adapter on rpi4 I can say that the only one that is silent on any circunstance running at 40% rpm is the noctua 8x8cm 5V PWM fan. Noctua 8x8cm 5V PWM fan do some usable airflow and remains silent on a quiet room at night. The ...

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 temperature

I think it's worth mentioning that cpuburn is a pathological case, you will never get to that level of usage under normal circumstances. So if you can keep below threshold with that running, the normal use case will be well inside the thermal limits. Producing a system to keep the device cool when ...

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 temperature

Some data about new flirc case to raspberrypi 4... Without any case, in 26-27C ambient, I got a naked raspberry pi to nearly 90C in 5-10 minutes. Okay great. Now with the Flirc case, I get it to 80C in 25 minutes. I saw the temp hang around 80C +/- 2C for 30 minutes. Seems like we hit steady state, ...

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 temperature

@ ptrdish Noctua fans 5V 40x40mm works very well and near silent at 3,3V. Plug in at 3,3V if you want more silent fan operation. I have both Noctua NF-A4x20 5V PWM that is better than Noctua NF-A4x10 5V PWM at 3,3V, more silent and more air flow. Using a heatsink 26x20x5mm and thermal-pad 3M-8810 on...

I am using an USB-2 hub 50cm away rpi4 and connected my wireless keyboard-mousepad to it and is working fine but some people with problems on wireless keyboards and mouse and wifi dongles must use an extensor cable to avoid USB-3 interference. https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=28&am...

Re: PI 4 causing wifi mouse dongle freeze. Heat-related?

USB-3 can cause Radio Frequency Interference.
Use an extensor from USB-2 ports to dongles like keyboards and mouse wireless.

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 temperature

I'm not convinced the Pi4 needs a heat sink most of the time and my Pi4 doesn't seem to throttle, but they do no harm (the passive ones anyway) so I stuck one of these on for fun: https://thepihut.com/products/al-heat-sink-with-adhesive-tape-30-30-10mm Its narrower than Pimoroni one mentioned above...

Re: USB 3.0 Radio Frequency Interference on rpi4?

I've never noticed radio interference on a USB line, but they make clamp on ferrite chokes if you have this problem. I use ~15cm USB extension cables for dongles. The USB ports are very close together. https://www.newark.com/productimages/standard/en_US/72K6744-40.jpg?01AD=31ZsaTIzoiEnaDFM5YlFM1PMf...
