Re: Raspberry Pi 3 won't boot

The Ubuntu Mate images from their official website don’t support the Pi 3B+ yet. With help of other people on this forum, I was able to create images that are ready for the Pi 3B+.

Here are the torrents:

Re: Pi 3b+ speed for torrenting

That 300 Mbps is shared for ethernet and USB. When you're downloading/uploading a torrent, you're also writing/reading it through USB. So that leaves you 150Mbps for downloading/uploading and 150Mbps for writing/reading. If I'm not mistaken, the WiFi is not shared with the USB controller so dependin...

Re: Website hosting on RPI 3B+?

I'm curios on why I would need a USB hard-drive? Isn't the usb port of the RPI still USB 2.0? Would I get better performance than a class 10 SD-card? Database servers like the one you'll need do a lot of writes, it will make flash memory go corrupt faster than usual. Do you use something like Kuber...

Re: Tried to create an SSL certificate for apache and now it won't work. Please help!!

According to this post you must edit ' config.xml '. That file could be at ' /opt/z-way-server/config.xml ', but I don't have Z-Way so I don't know for sure. After you edited the file, make sure to restart Z-Wave so the changes can take effect (probably ' sudo service z-way-server restart') . If you...

Re: Tried to create an SSL certificate for apache and now it won't work. Please help!!

But what doesn't make sense to me is that if i desactivate ssl then my apache server is working again even that my mongoose server is still running. That's because http:// works on port 80 (doesn't conflict with Mongoose port 443) while https:// (SSL) works on port 443 (conflicts with Mongoose port...

Re: Web interface OS

You can use SSH to start configuring your Raspberry Pi. It's not in the browser but in a terminal. That way you can get started with Raspbian (Lite). There are different solutions to access your Raspberry Pi depending on what software you want to use on your Raspberry Pi. Some software have built-in...

The link isn't broken, it's just been mangled by the folks who use cut'n'paste rather than quote on the forum. https://www.cnx-software.com/2015/04/09/relative-performance-of-arm-cortex-a-32-bit-and-64-bit-cores/ It is indeed broken in the quote, but the entire cnx-software.com website was giving b...

I find as the second entry: https://www.cnx-software.com/2015/04/09 ... bit-cores/ Great. A link to a blank page! Maybe they got the Raspbian community hug of death? Anyway, I was interested in reading the article so here's the cached version I found: https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q...

Ubuntu Mate ist nicht bereit für Pi 3B+. Du könst Raspbian verwenden oder warten bis ein update für Ubuntu Mate.

I don't have experience with the Raspbian desktop, only terminal. You can set the keyboard lay-out (and some localization options) in the terminal with:

Code: Select all

sudo raspi-config

You can display the temperature easily with:-

vcgencmd measure_temp

Just to add, if you created a new user, you need to run it as superuser:

Code: Select all

sudo vcgencmd measure_temp

Re: Tried to create an SSL certificate for apache and now it won't work. Please help!!

There's nothing wrong with the tutorial, you're just trying to combine it with Mongoose on the same port. Like everyone suggests, you can't run 2 services on the same port. You can fix this with Heater's suggestions. It depends on whether you want Mongoose to be publicly accessible or not. If Mongoo...

Re: Wordpress: No formatting, no pictures on LAN.

You probably configured http://localhost as the WordPress URL. I think it's best to clear your database, delete the WordPress config file and install WordPress again but this time use http://192.168.x.x (replace with your Pi IP address) as the WordPress URL. In case you don't want to reinstall but f...

Re: PI + DAC + Power Bank + Touchscreen = ?

Some powerbanks don't deliver enough current for a RPi 3B, so you'll probably be better of using 2 power banks (1 for RPi, 1 for touchscreen).

Re: Ubuntu image for the new Raspberry Pi 3 B+

Maybe not in an 'official' Ubuntu (Mate) package, but maybe in a fork? Or if washy (or someone else) could get this to work, he/she could make an image with the altered boot files and upload it.

EDIT: link to relevant issue on building Debian for Raspberry Pi 3B+
