Re: Raspberry Pi 3 B+

Re: Best partition type for data storage?

I dunno if this will count, but I have booted and RPi3B and RPi3B+ using an SSD containing the latest (well, it was 06-27 back then) raspbian and shared the home directory via samba. at the shared home directory, a folder named /home/pi/DataStor was created. For reference: though not SSD, on another...

Re: Pi Not Rebooting automatically on first boot

Well its true that the RPF's recommendation for newbies is to install the OS using NOOBS (I too did that when I first started with Jessie), problems arose when I needed to UP-grade (no its not mis-typed). Nowadays I install using image, flashing it via Etcher. If you still want to install using NOOB...

Re: Upgrade 2B to 3B+ ; Software Needs?

if you installed your raspbian on your RPi2B using NOOBS (or PINN), and you dont want to start from fresh installation on the RPi3B+ .... then the most probable solution will be to "export out" of NOOBS. this way you preserve your original settings, installed packages, etc. the raspbian on the RPi2B...

Re: Power for pi zero w and pi zero

oh, so that may be the case with the power adaptor... never seen a barrel to microUSB power adaptor yet, so either you DIY a power adaptor cable (barrel to microUSB) or get a proper PSU with USB slot or get a proper PSU with microUSB cable terminated at the end. For reference, my RPiZeroW is powered...

Ever heard of the term "overkill"? What would your solution cost vs a 5ah Power Bank for $12? yes, and I kinda liked the term... ;) using a TESLA Model S power bank to power an RPi will probably be an "overkill" the OP did not mention cost restraints..... I also like cats (or Felis silvestris catus...

if you have nothing really important in the current micrSD card, how about re-flashing it(using Etcher or any other method you prefer) with the latest Raspbian Stretch with Desktop?

having a mouse connected will be handy....

+1 on getting proper USB to MicroUSB cable.

the ones at the dollar store, rated 2.4A works fine for the RPiZeroW and RPiZero.

its what I use for my RPiZeroW "security camera"

Just for test... can you flash (using Etcher) your microSD with latest Raspian Stretch with Desktop and boot from it? In my RPi1B (c) 2012 which I am using as an auto boot Kodi Media Player, I've installed Stretch using Raspbian Image, as I have ditched NOOBS. works fine.... My 256MB RPiA+ also runs...

Re: A good battery for the Pi 3B+?

for all day power (or probably more) I'd probably go for a couple of 12D batteries in parallel, then convert it 5.2V at 4A and use custom cable (using VCT 2x0.75mmsq ) for power connection to RPi3B+ (not use microUSB)

batteries charged via mains converter or solar, wind/water turbines....

Re: Need help about setting static ip

Hi there! Welcome to the Forums! If you have access to the router, its best to have it reserve a static IP address, one for Ethernet and one for WiFi, for your RPi (and other devices in the network), and leave the network settings on all devices to receive its IP address via DHCP. with that, even if...
