before that.... have you been informed about the use of NVMe drives on RPi4 as "impractical"?

Oh...BTW... I do (manually) transfer my photos from my Android phones
using AndSMB application....
am saving the photos to a samba share drive on another NAS, so I can edit it, an post it in the forum....
that is why I haven't been using syncthing....

I've got syncthing up and running (without OMV) on the other SBC...
Note: this is just a test install, I may or may not fully implement on a RPi

if you want Syncthing only... just install Syncthing so that's... RPiOS lite/minimum desktop synchthing never tried it before so probably I wont be much help there... for RAID installation.... am not using OS level software RAID on my setups did tested using OS level software RAID1 before using two thumbdrives (for lesser power requirement).... was unstable.... thus I abandoned it... my primary and secondary NAS are single HDD setups the contents of the primary NAS are mirrored to the sec...

For my NAS (whether RPi based or other SBC based), I never use OMV.... just plain Lite OS, and samba... system is up and running and serving in less than 20 minutes... never gave me problems... I did tried OMV two years back (on RPi3B).... more trouble than it's worth and last month tried it again (...

Just simple NAS on the RPi1B RPiOS32 Lite LAN connection HDDs in self powered case (WD Blue 6TB and Seagate Barracuda 6TB) , formatted to EXT4 Samba .... and another complementary setup as "backup" I use mainly the "blue" of the WD line of HDDs... as the other "colored HDDs&...

if the HDDs were formatted in OMV as ext4.....
then w$ is oblivious/clueless/plain ignorant of that file system if connected locally to that w$ system....
as its already in a NAS, accessible in w$ as a network drive, just browse/delete/copy over over the files to that network drive...

tell us what is the coil rating on the "12v relay" that you have...

Been using M2 resin hex spacers for my RPi projects....
if I really need to use M3 resin hex spacers.... I'll just use Ø 3.1mm drill bit to enlarge the RPi mounting hole...
