Have I destroyed my pi / my ESC from low voltage?

Untill a couple of days ago my py 3B was running my robot car module perfectly using pigpio. It would even display the pin status on pyscope. I then suffered from poor (low) voltage supply to the pi and since then when running the module I get no response from the pins and ESC controller and pyscope...

Motion library problems

Untill 2 days ago my pi camera was working fine with Motion. Then the daemon stopped loading and I could not get the server to stream on local internet. I tried many things, even reinstalled the latest raspbian and afresh install of Motion but the problem persists. Using sudo service motion start pr...

Re: GPIO to PIGPIO "translation"

Thank you bensimmo for your answer.
The first bit of code using RPi.GPIO prints values according to light conditions (dark/light)
The second, using PIGPIO prints 1 and does not change to light intensity.
There are no errors on running the code

GPIO to PIGPIO "translation"

While Joan's pot_cap.py module for reading an ldr is magic, it is difficult for me as an amateur to comprehend. So I looked for an alternative and found rhe code below which works and I can understand it. import RPi.GPIO as GPIO import time GPIO.setmode(GPIO.BCM) #define the pin that goes to the cir...

Re: Slow boot with apt-daily.service (?SOLVED)

I flashed the latest Raspbian (Version:October 2018, Release date:2018-10-09) to my SD card and all problems went away.
Super fast booting!
Thank you guys!

Re: Slow boot with apt-daily.service

Thank you
I am using a pi 3B with the 2018-06-27 version of Stretch. I am not 100% sure but I believe that the previous version (2018-04-18) did not present this problem. I also just noticed that there is a new version of stretch and at some point I will try it.

Slow boot with apt-daily.service

Hello everyone, I am not sure where to post this so I put it here On the first boot of the day I get the green LED to stay on for hours (literally) and the pi is very slow during that time. I will usually reboot and then it seems to work fine. Trying to investigate I issued systemd-analyze blame and...

Has anyone used this board? https://secondrobotics.com/product/robot-core-v1-2/
It sounds extremely good for robotics and sensing but there is nothing much since 2017

Re: Set the pi as AP

Well, it works now and I can see the pi on my Android phone and connect to it. But: 1.The pi becomes extremely slow or unresponsive (using VNC viewer) when connected using ethernet wire 2.Does not connect to 192.168.4.1 which is the suggested address using putty 3.The green led stays on permanently ...

I am trying to set my pi3B as an access point using the official docs ( https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/configuration/wireless/access-point.md I have proceeded to the point where I should execute sudo iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -o eth0 -j MASQUERADE . Tornado, websockets and coroutines. Unsolvable problem?

Consider this: I have created a robot car which is nicely controlled from a web page using Tornado, websockets and jquery . The problem arises when you want sensors to provide inputs to the program that will alter its behaviour (stop, turn etc.) How is this implemented? what if you have more than on...

Tornado web sockets and coroutines

I have created a nice UI to control a robot car using python websockets and it works. I would however like to have a "thread" that returns the distance from an object so that the car can stop instead of hitting a wall. It seems threading is not supported with Tornado and the best way is to use a cor...

Re: web control robot: Latency times

Thank you OutoftheBOTS for this very quick reply. Do you mean Tornado and Websockets will be faster than Flask and Flask sockets? I think Flask sockets is very fast but not immediate possibly because of the threads running Also can you tell me if making the pi an access point will improve things? Ma...

web control robot: Latency times

I have finally programmed my robot car and it works. But the latency time when using an HTTP Flask server is too long. So I got my hands dirty and installed Flask SocketIO. Things improved but some times the latency time is around 4sec from web generated command to action and some times 1sec. (laten...

Single power supply for all

Can someone suggest a single power supply for a rover? It will need to:
Power the Pi
power 2* 5v engines
power 2 or more servos
be rechargeable
charged from a wall outlet and (maybe) charged by a solar panel.

I would welcome internet catalogue entries and (simple) wiring instructions

Many Thanks
