Re: Accessing Pi from Windows

Accessing a Pi from Windows 10 is easy. Make sure the Pi is reachable. Do a ping on a Windows command line to your Pi's IP address (and you get that with ifconfig command on the Pi) If you have installed Bonjour on Windows you can use raspberrypi.local (or whatever name you agve your Pi with Raspi-c...

I have an older version, 2.0, of this display labeled Kedei (could you please change the subject to Kedei?). See here http://duinorasp.hansotten.com/3-5-lcd-tft-touch-screen-display-on-aliexpress/ with reference to the image I use for it. Works fine, albeit with slow refresh rate. You cant use the l...

Re: USB to Serial cable

The OP is having a CH341 Serial to USB adapter and has a loopback installed if I read his post correctly. In Windows 10 it works, so the device is functional. I have read reports (e.g. http://paulbyford.blogspot.nl/2016/03/updating-firmware-on-esp8266-devices.html) and seen myself that the CH341 in ...

Re: More Zeros Wednesday

Pimoroni has still the a Pi Zero + Adaptors RPI-009 kit in stock, 9 pounds. I agree the price of three adapters for 5 pounds is a bit more than ordering these from ebay (and wait 4-6 weeks) but these guys deserve a little bit of profit! Shipping is 4 pound, but combine with other nice objects, again...

Not a bad sensor it seems from reports! The HDR abilities are interesting, hopefully that will be supported since it really helps. I think those HDR capabilities are function of the Nexus 9 rather than specifically the sensor? You could approximate HDR imaging on the old module by taking three rapi...

Alex, did you notice any quality improvements? Amount of megapixels is not all that determines video quality. Amount of noise, contrast range to name a few matter too.

As our users say WTware works on Pi 3 now. Only WiFi is not working yet. We'll make it work as soon as we receive our Pi 3. So our project becomes https://winterminal.com WTware for Pi 2-3 :) Good work! Since PXE is is coming for the Pi 3 (wait is for software, the hardware can do it), this will be...

This is a current build of the latest IDE for ARM, runs on RPi2 and RPi3 as reported, http://downloads.arduino.cc/javaide/pul ... arm.tar.xz

Composite is always an option. No it isn't, because it's ugly enough on a full size TV. https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=79120 is the OP's best option. The OP specifically specified: no framebuffers, no drivers, so the TinyLCD is not his best option. And if I would suggest a fb so...

Re: USB ports stop working after a week, needs restart

Possible causes might be an application/driver/deamon with a memory leak, slowly eating all available and choke the system.
Can be is the OS, or in the applicatiosn you have added.
Can you monitor remote/log the system resources?

The easy way out is a reboot every day via a cron job.

Re: Raspberry Pi Zero - wireless keyboard/mouse (Logitech MK

The similar K400 works fine on a Zero. No configuration required.

What kind of cable do you use between the mini usb of the zero and the USB dongle?
Can you check if the cable with a non-wireless keybaord and/or mouse works?

I use cheap OTG cables and unpowered hubs, no issues there.

Re: SMB Transfer Speed (of the new Pi 3)?

There are several things to investigate when building a NAS server: - cpu. The RPi 3 is an improvement in clock speed over the previous ones. And Samba is a user process, and not multithreaded, so not optimized for more than one core, every client gets a new smbd (see https://www.samba.org/samba/doc...

USB floppy drives work fine on a Raspberry, I have got a Freecom type, that just works with standard FAT formatted floppies. What you will not get to work with USB is low level access, dumping tracks etc to overcome non-standard formatting. For those tools you will need a standard PC floppy interfac...

Do a full erase on it.

On Windows SDFormatter does that. Or put it in a digital camera and use the erase card full function.
