Re: Connecting to my Windows 7 network

What do you mean how?

I already said it on my first post. What else do you want to know?

Linking the ethernet cable to the modem, checking the IPv4 on my W7, loading that in Kodi under SMB protocol, and getting nothing.

Re: Connecting to my Windows 7 network

Yes, of course. Sharing is enabled in all HDDs that have to be shared.

I didn't fix the IPs on Wndows or Rasp, but they continue to be the same all the time with this router.

Connecting to my Windows 7 network

Hi,

I can't seem to connect my Raspberry Pi3 +B, booted with LibreELEC/KODI, to my Windows 7 PC, by Ethernet.

I have tried everything, loading my IP address under SMB protocol, and I get "Invalid Argument" error.

The IP is correct, so the problem is not there.

What might be happening?

Audio managing with RPi3 B+

I want to setup a high resolution audio network, controlled and managed through an RPi3 B+. The files will be on my PC/server, ethernet cable connected to the RPi, and the output will be USB to a Topping D50 DAC. The system has to be able to run all kind of audio files, up to DSD ones. It was sugges...

Re: First steps on coming Raspberry Pi 3 B+

You're absolutely right on what are my intentions for the Raspberry: just a passthrough need to feed my files from my server to my DAC. With the utmost transparency. I'm also aware of the vinyl disc end importance. You don't need to go to many thousands of dollars to get high quality, particularly i...

Re: First steps on coming Raspberry Pi 3 B+

Thanks for your comments on your RPB arrangement. My objectives are much more ambitious than "quite sufficient for .wav audio". I got into this following the guidance of a friend of mine who knows a lot more about this than I do. And he's quite confident on how much I can get from it. The Pi 3 B+ wi...

First steps on coming Raspberry Pi 3 B+

Took my first plunge to assemble my audio network using the Pi3 B+ as playing manager. Input through ethernet, output by USB to Topping D50 DAC. The managing program that was recommended to me was Picoreplayer. So comments about it or others are very much welcome. Files format will be mp3 (very few)...

Re: Building an audio system

From all the things you described, the one I already consider a very bad one is not having a different kind of control than using my android phone. If I can't control the system to do what I want in some other way, the whole system becomes useless then. Contrary to most other people, I try to use my...

Re: Building an audio system

Of course I do not feel bad about some fun my "over the top" proposal might arise. Having fun is always a good thing. If this Raspberry is the top model I can get, I think it's also fine, because it might have things or capabilities that might help further developments that might come soon. The inve...

Re: Building an audio system

OK, please explain to me what is the matter with the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+! My ignorance is complete on Raspberry models or options, so I may be doing something stupid and not knowing so. Why would anybody stop me from buying that Raspberry, and why it would be my decision? That sounds as if I am ...

Re: Building an audio system

If your PC will be doing the actual work, what is the Pi for? My 10 year old junker of a PC supports up to 7.1 channels of audio directly off the motherboard with no more than a few configuration tweaks, surely newer PCs can do similar? My PC is not on my living room, so I need to send the signal v...

I found this tutorial pdf where I think are listed the parts I would need to assemble an RPI based system: http://www.iqaudio.com/downloads/IQaudIO.pdf It also includes some basic guidelines on how to run it. Ok I have 2 setups using volumio and one setup (this RPi) Actually I have a few more "plaything" audio setup using RPis but the above 3 suggestions will give you a very good idea on how to build your RPi based audio (hiFi) system... OK, being a beginner I have no idea which might be the one for me....

Building an audio system

Even if my questions may probably not belong in beginners, my lack of knowledge of how Raspberry based systems work qualifies me as one. My task is to assemble a network high-quality audio system and see how far I can get with it, particularly in the 5.1 HT field. What are the boxes/boards I need to...

Re: 7.1 preamp audio project

No, I don't have a Pi. And the problem with the only decoder I know that outputs 5.1 analog channels is that you do need an HDMI splitter, because the internal HDMI video passthrough is not completely right. If I remember well there were ground loops or something on it. Pity I ended up blowing mine,...

Re: 7.1 preamp audio project

The RPi handles optical inputs?

Because the optical on the ST6000 is output, not input.

Maybe the manufacturer is right, and this board won't solve my problem.

Re: 7.1 preamp audio project

Well, it's the manufacturer itself that says their unit ST6000 does not work as a stand alone DAC.

So it seems this might not be what I'm looking for.

Re: 7.1 preamp audio project

I asked Audiophonics, and they answered this:

"Some of our board are able to handle DTS and Dolby but a PI and Kodi software is needed.

This DAC cannot work as a stans alone product."

So the question comes back on how do I input an HDMI signal into Raspberry Pi/Audiophonics ST6000 combo.

7.1 preamp audio project

Even if I know very very little of Raspeberry matters, I came directly here because I wonder if I could bypass the beginners time for this project. Some days ago I discovered this Audiophonics 7.1 audio decoder: http://www.audiophonics.fr/en/diy-dac/st6000-dac-es9023x4-hdmi-i2s-24bit-192khz-71ch-for...
