Hi bzt, first of all, nice job, and thanks for making this tool available! I wrote a simple Gentoo ebuild for it ( here ); at the moment this only supports the native X build (haven't looked into the dependencies when building with libui yet ><). It seems to work fine on Gentoo under amd64 and arm64...

Hello, I've just posted a v1.5.4 update release of my bootable 64-bit Gentoo image for the RPi4 B / RPi3 B & B+ on GitHub ( here , includes full download instructions). As always, you can burn the image (~1,763MiB compressed) to a microSD card (>=16GB), then boot your RPi3 or RPi4 from it directly (...

Hi JumpZero, it seems there are a few regressions affecting chromium 79 and 80 when run in a container (or when using a remote X server). TamaTamaGoGo, ah, apologies ><, that was a typo on one of my GitHub pages; you actually need to issue: [email protected]:~ $ sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install -y raspbian-nspawn-64 to install the package. At the moment, you only have debian-buster-64 (the guest OS image) installed. best, sakaki

In the meantime, one interim solution (which thanks to ShiftPlusOne is now a deb in the official (*) Raspbian repo!) is raspbian-nspawn-64 : this allows you to install and run regular 64-bit Debian Buster packages in a lightweight container on your RPi3B/3B+/4B (under the official 64-bit kernel, alo...

Can you clarify if the image is a 64 bit kernel with a 64 bit userland or mixed ?
It is a 64-bit kernel, 64-bit userland system.

No worries ^-^

Incidentally, the forthcoming version shows a zenity error dialog if it cannot start due to the running kernel being 32-bit, not 64-bit (and also offers to edit /boot/config.txt for you if necessary, to set arm_64bit=1, during the install phase).

I was unable to get this working on the latest Raspbian version (2020-02-05) - the service failed to start. Also, are we to assume to that this functionality is about to be integrated into Raspbian? Hi haaldemir, yes, as of last week a new update is available, yes (with mesa-20.0.0_rc2 etc), which you can get via genup. The genup program needs to be run as the root user, or by using sudo genup as the regular user - can I just check that is how you are invoking it? The errors you are getting see...

Hi ozbird, maxmars, the issue you are seeing is not actually an error, but the expected behaviour. What is happening, is that your binary kernel packages have been emerged (as is the shipped default) with the with-matching-boot-fw USE flag active. This, in turn, constrains the version of the sys-boo...
