SSD1331 module

Hello, I think I connected correctly to the pi3, then follow this link https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=130755 But when I get to import SSD1331, it tells me that No module named SSD1331, then I searched on Google, it only shows links about Arduino_SSD1306. Not SSD1331 Now I ha...

Re: unassembled pi3

Thanks for the replies. I am actually making a home made 7" tablet(piBlet :D ). I wrote the python script for it on a piZero W, but it is unbearably slow! pi3 will be perfect except for the ports. They take up so much space.(I want it to be a thin as possible.( Plus in this age, who use wired Ethern...

Hello, I am wondering is there any place I can get a pi3 that is not pre-assembled.( ie no header, no wired-ethernet the 4 usb? surely I can take them out but it requires a quite bit of desoldering. Thanks

Re: Silly question

It wasn't in cron or /etc/rc.local either. I finally back up the script and did what n67 suggested deleted the script. now it start normally. yay! : ) Just for future reference, besides the above methods, where else can trigger a script to start at boot? Thanks guys

Maybe autostart?
/home/pi/.config/lxsession/LXDE-pi/autostart
Thanks for the reply.
Nope. :( there are so many ways to start a script, I must have placed the path some where and forget, but where?

Silly question

Hello, this is a really silly question. About six months ago, I wrote a python script. I put its path in /etc/profile so that it would start at boot, which worked fine. But now I wish not to have it start at boot anymore, so I deleted that path from /etc/profile. But the script still starts at boot....

Re: i2c or spi?

I think the board labels are confusing. The SSD1331 chip supports SPI (plus two archaic parallel modes) but not I2C. The SSD1331 datasheet and board schematic are in the rar. In SPI mode, data goes in on the D1 pin of the chip which is labeled SDA on the board. Clk goes in on D0 which is labeled SC...

Re: i2c or spi?

I remember the rar had circuit diagrams. I think I saw one of the pins labelled as slave select (a SPI signal) on one of the circuit diagrams. Haha, I must be blind or need to get my eyes checked out or something. I ask around people keep mention the rar file, where is it? I couldn't find it on the...

Re: i2c or spi?

So how do I know whether to use i2c or not? I have a 1-bit black and white version in i2c which has only 4 wires, scl, sda, vcc and gnd. I don't know where to start on this color one, I tried use only the 4 wires scl, sad, vcc and end as i2c with no result. But the CS wires indicates it may be spi. ...

Thanks all for the replies. nowhere in the link mention it is either i2c or spi. I guess I just to trial and error to find out. Could it be some sort of hybrid works on both i2c and spi?

i2c or spi?

Hello, I brought this tiny monitor from Amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07555ZHC9/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 But I am a bit confused if it is I2C or SPI. It has 7 pins, GND, VCC, SCL, SDA, RES, DC and CS. Because of the SCL and SDA pins, I assumed that it is I2C, but when ...

Do you think this GSM module is compatible with pi 3? I emailed the seller, but he refer it back to the ad, I just want to be sure it will work on the pi3.

Thanks for the reply. No it's not a typo I copy and paste it for the tutorial and it compiles, it was nothing to do with the errors, Anyhow, I managed to compile it without the virtualenv in python3, works like a champ! :)

Re: opencv without virtual env

How do I take out the virtualenv? Base on the same tutorial, do I just need to re-compile the whole thing over but skip the section virtualenv(step 4) ? sudo pip install virtualenv virtualenvwrapper? I thought I did that but then it just made opencv avail not in python3. I like to just use python3 w...
