Re: Arduino ide does not launch on pi3 stretch.

did you install from the repo, or get the (much newer, much better) version from https://www.arduino.cc/en/Main/Software ? +1 The version in the Debian/Mint/Ubuntu/Raspbian repos is a piece of junk - it won't work with ESP8266s. Grabbing the version from https://www.arduino.cc/download_handler.php?...

Arduino ide does not launch on pi3 stretch.

Hello, its been awhile since I do anything on the pi3 with arduino IDE. Today I fired up the arduino ide, I click on it, it is as if it was going to open, but after a while, the hourglass vanished, the IDE does not open. I also re-installed arduino IDE and I did update and upgrade to the latest of s...

remove/delete all dependencies

Hello, I installed serval software from tar, not apt install package, one of them is the Arduino IDE. Now I need to delete it. But the arduino related files are all over the place after the installation and I can't use apt remove them. How can I clean out all Arduino related files?

7" official pi LCD ribbon

Hello, does anyone know how to buy the 7" official pi LCD ribbon? the ribbon between the pi and the LCD circuit board. On eBay they all sold with the LCD, not just the ribbon itself. Thanks.

picamera save picture to a remote computer.

Hi I use picamera to take time lapse images, save the images to a local directory on pi. But the images take up too much spaces.
How can I save the images to a remote computer? Do I use ssh?

Code: Select all

os.system('sudo raspistill -t 30000 -tl 2000 -o ~/Desktop/html/images/img%04d.png')

Re: error encountered while processing nodered on pi

I haven't try that yet. I ended up updating and upgrade the SD card. installed all necessary packages a pi 3 the use the SD card on a piZero W. No problem at all.

Now a new question surfaced, why couldn't I did it directly on the Pi Zero W?

Re: sudo apt-get install fswebcam not working

As I have said several times in this thread after doing sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade you need to do sudo apt-get update for a second time and before you try installing anything with sudo apt-get install <package name> this became necessary after an update several updates a ago. HAVE YOU...

Re: sudo apt-get install fswebcam not working

So are you saying that a update and upgrade removed an installed copy of fswebcam ? I am not sure if it removed the existing fswebcam or not. But for sure the /dev/video0 isn't there anymore. I tried to reinstall fswebcam again by first sudo apt remove fswebcam to clear the old fswebcam, then I I t...

Re: More question about GPIO on servo

RPi.GPIO has no support for hardware PWM. It allows software PWM on all GPIO. There are quite a few gpio libraries, pigpio, wiring gpio, servoblast... confuse the hack of me. What else are there? I think I read it somewhere pigpio supports hardware gpios, is that right? How about wiring gpio and se...

More question about GPIO on servo

Hello, I have a pi3 with latest stretch. A lot of tutorials say there is only one PWM pin on GPIO 18, but when I use the code: import RPi.GPIO as GPIO import time GPIO.setmode(GPIO.BOARD) GPIO.setup(12, GPIO.OUT) p = GPIO.PWM(12, 50) p.start(7.5) try: while True: p.ChangeDutyCycle(7.5) # turn toward...

There is also a pigpio, can that use hardware GPIO as well? I heard there are compatibility issues on servoblast on raspbian stretch, is pigpio fully compatiable ?

Part of the fun is to learn to do it yourself, you may learn something. the pi was initially designed for kids. If a kid can do it, so can you. :)

Re: How prevent screen going blank with raspian stretch?

I hated the auto blank as well but don't go the xscreensaver route. just another piece of junk to take up space. Edit this file /home/pi/.config/lxsession/LDXE-pi/autostart, be sure you use this path. There is another autostart file somewhere else, that is the wrong autostart file. add @xset s nobla...
