It appears though that some HDMI-CEC compliant TVS (panasonic) do not turn back on?
It looks like (some) panasonic TVs need a special command sequence to turn on, see eg here: https://forum.libreelec.tv/thread/22894 ... post145946

Re: Moving Linux Kernel to 5.9

I have updated to 5.9 and updated cec-client libcec to version 6 and have tested on both drivers and am unable to use second HDMI port. Anything further I can supply, test, try to help get this working ? Assuming you are running the full kms driver (vc4-kms-v3d) you may have better luck using cec-c...

Re: The Raspberry Pi 400 thread!

I did a quick power check on RPi4 4GB B1 stepping vs Pi400, running LibreELEC master with kernel 5.9.2 and Oct 29 firmware, and measured about 80mA/400mW less on Pi400 when kodi is idling on the main screen. Only GBit LAN and 1920x1200 monitor connected, wifi and BT disabled. RPi4 B1: rpi4b1.png Pi4...

The dt-blob.dts files we use in LibreELEC are available here: https://github.com/LibreELEC/slice-firmware

slice3-dt-blob.dts is the one for the slice with CM3

Re: Unable to set non-standard baud rate

Also have a look at the spd_cust and divisor options of setserial https://linux.die.net/man/8/setserial - you may have to install the setserial package with apt to get it. "setserial -a /dev/..." will show you the baud_base, just divide that by your baudrate to get the divisor. These allow you to re...

Re: IR receiver on pin17 - not working??

The rc device is setup for rc6 decoding so unless your remote transmits rc6 scancodes it's normal you don't get anything from ir-keytable.

Use ir-ctl -r to check for raw pulse/space signals or ir-keytable -p all -t to enable all in-kernel protocol decoders.

HEVC hardware video decoding. At least current working theory is that 4kp60 decoding at 50-70Mbit/sec isn't working well because HW decoders are starving from memory bandwidth limitations. but is that workload starving on reads, or writes, i feel like write bandwidth after decompression would be st...

Do you have an actual example of an actual workload where memory bandwidth is the limiting factor? HEVC hardware video decoding. Re: Moving Linux Kernel to 5.4

@HiassofT I just reviewed the latest 5.4 kernel commit and this caught my attention: This allows HBR audio passthough on a Pi 4 (e.g. DTS-HD and TrueHD) A patch to alsa-lib is also required as it doesn't format status bits correctly for HBR. Re: Moving Linux Kernel to 5.4

Thanks for the response. My issue is not the fact that I can't get any sound. My issue, a trivial one all things considered, is that the ALSA plugins don't all work - i.e. dmix. dmix is problematic, as it doesn't support IEC958 subframes - see this post on the alsa mailinglist for details: https://...

Re: Unable to get irrecord working using LIRC on Raspberry Pi 4

If you say "custom remote" is it one you built yourself? Knowing what protocol the remote uses would help a lot, there are generic BPF decoders available eg for pulse-distance, pulse-length or manchester encoding. If it's a very non-standard protocol it could well be that irrecord simply can't cope ...

Re: Unable to get irrecord working using LIRC on Raspberry Pi 4

Which remote are you using?

If the remote is using a non-standard protocol it'll be a bit trickier. IIRC bpf decoders should be enabled in current rpi-kernel but the very handy raw decoder isn't included in the Buster version of ir-keytable.

Re: STICKY: The I2S sound thread. [I2S works]

Is it possible to indicate somehow a frequency limit inside the dts. 88K2, 192K, 384K. No, that's not possible. The available formats and samplerates are determined by what the I2S controller and the codec support (only formats/rates supported by both of them will be available). So, if you are usin...

I was quite positively surprised that the RPi4 booted fine from a micro SD card in my Transcend USB3 and my Hama branded USB2.0 multi-cardreaders. I didn't have much luck with these on PCs/laptops, probably because the PC BIOS USB boot implementations didn't cope well with multi-LUN devices and the ...

Re: vim is weird on RPi

I strongly advise against editing /usr/share/vim/vim81/defaults.vim, that file will be automatically replaced whenever vim is updated (via apt upgrade). apt has stuff in place to notice that and ask you to resolve it. I'm happy with the way I've hacked it. Ahem, have you tried "apt install --reinst...
