The two cc pins on the USB-C power are connected together to a single pull-down rather than a separate pull-down on each so that some USB-C power supplies do not output anything to power the Pi 4 however the Raspberry Pi USB-C power supply does not have this problem?

Yes. 'chroot' is what it does.

On the Pi Server there is a menu option to start a 'chroot' into the client filesystem where you can install stuff, update the system. etc.

I run Raspberry Pi desktop with VMWare successfully. Have you installed it to a (virtual) hard disk or just booting from the image. I think the only problem I had was the display resolution being reset to the default.

Or something like it. The power supply on mine failed because the two parts of the transformer in it were not glued together. Also there was no input filtering causing interference on the radio!. A replacement proper power supply and it works fine!

Don't assume that any old cable is suitable.

To adapt the old adage:

Measure (with a continuity tester) twice, plug in once
