From comments I've seen, the Pi has a 10K resistor at the USB-C connector and that is the "negotiation" to get 3A.
A legacy adapter to USB A has a 56k resistor which in theory tells the device to only draw 500ma. Wondering if that will limit what current the Pi4 will draw.
It shouldn't.

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 temperature

I'll play devils advocate and suggest somebody didn't do their job properly. It's just that simple. The case was probably designed before the Pi4b was fully tested, leading to what we see here. Where the blame for that lies, is anybody's guess, but somewhere along production, somebody neglected the ...

It's not dead, it just doesn't cope with the current the Pi requires.
It'll probably make an excellent phone charger.

While you definitely win the award for patience, perhaps we can keep to this millennium and somewhat more on topic of why Raspbian is slow to download _today_, in a world where dial up isn't even available anymore. Or we could discuss 1891 where a single telephone call could be made at a time. https...

The old RPi model B that you show does have 2 mounting holes, they are towards the center of the board (different position than newer models).
I am having trouble seeing these mounting holes.
I know where they are on located (see klrick's post) but cannot see them in the linked url by OP.

Re: downloading raspbian: too slow

Yeah, bit slower today. Full Buster image took all of 11 minutes here in Finland. I have never understood why people complain about slow Raspbian downloads. Most of the people in here complaining have poor internet connections. Thankfully mine has improved, but when I first bought a Pi, downloading...

Re: What limits RPi4 OC to 1750 MHz?

You have two choices with overclocking (regular PC, or Pi, it's irrelevant) Option one: you are given the ability to do it with the possibility to destroy the device Or option two: you are locked from doing so. Option one comes with the clause "these are the limits, any further and its on your own h...

You're not going to find a Linux installer for Fortnite let alone Raspbian, unless you do.

Well that's a laugh. I watch Explaining Computers on YouTube sometimes but I've never heard him say that.

Please be aware that if this processor bit is set, it cannot be reset and your warranty is void. If you are OK with that, by all means proceed! but is it legal ? you can't really give a user the option to overclock via software and void their warranty if they do so.... can you? I mean in the US it ...

If you're handy with a soldering iron, you can design your own and order some usb hub chips for a few dollars. You'd need some capacitors and resistors and prototyping perfboard, but it is doable.

I'm making one such thing myself because of the same reason.

Overclocked and water cooled, that would be fun
Did that to a Pi3b, wasn't nearly as effective as expected despite the radiator being three times the size of the Pi.

Re: Dual USB stack on A3+ ?

Maybe a more direct answer: no The USB on a Pi3A+ is a single usb port connected directly to the SOC, in order to add additional ports You need to add a usb hub. There is no option, you either add a usb hub, or you live with one usb port. Let's say for arguments sake, you don't need to add a hub. Yo...

Re: Why is the RPi4 being advertised as a desktop computer?

Not the point, a heatsink will saturate with heat until it's the same temperature as the thing radiating the heat. Convection usually takes that heat away, but convection is limited when your hand is holding onto that heatsink. It won't take long before a pi4 based phone begins cooking the user's pa...
