But in case anyone is ever intersted, I can confirm that WhatsApp is running, straight out of the box.

I'm using:
RPi 3B
Emteria 1.1.0 (Android 7.1.2)
Cheap USB sound card with headset plugged into it

WhatsApp on RPi Android?

Has anybody installed the real WhatsApp and using it to make and receive voice calls?

If so, I'd be grateful to know your configuration, etc.

The best solution is to use the WebBrowser version of Skype ... unless you need the public API. But it turns out that the API has been removed from the latest Linux version anyway. Thanks for the reply. I think you're right. I've been doing some more searching and I found a solution using the ExaGear desktop which allows x86 applications to run. But that costs EUR 29.95 for the R Pi 3 version. People seem to have Skype 4.3 working but I can't find any references to the new Bet...
