Re: My experience with RS

I bought my Pi from RS and they delivered it to me fine People who bought a case with their Pi have to wait longer If you are not in the UK, then obviously it will take a lot longer to get to you Up to 12 weeks delivery for people in the UK when I ordered, From end of May > End of August = 12 weeks,...

Re: Concern re "surprise" overclock & warranty implications

Overclocking does not void warranty Overvolting sets a "bit" on the CPU and does void warranty Some distros such as XBian are overclocked, I have not seen any that are overvolted and would imagine anyone releasing overvolted images would be asked to remove them quick fire, or have a MASSIVE disclaim...

http://slackware.spit-ct.ro I really recommend the installer created by David Spencer if you want a clean install of slackware on your Pi. The downside is that the installer is time consuming, but it`s a great alternative for a prebuilt image. http://www.daves-collective.co.uk/raspi/ The Pi devel t...

The title suggests Roku porting too, I don't see any mention of that, would it be feasible to port the Roku software to the RPi ?

Screenshot shows 1.4.0 running relatively happily (can be a bit "clunk" but the same problem occurs with xfce, guess it's down to having no hardware acceleration yet) via tightvncserver. Yeah, "clunk" is an apt description. I run MATE from an SD card configuration when creating the images for other...

Unfortunately, the attached picture is too small to be able to read anything. 2) Do they really sell USB keyboards in grocery stores in the UK? They don't do it here. In fact, I don't know of anyplace locally (other than a dedicated computer store, of which we have a few - but it is going to be sup...

Hi, I'm still fairly new to this myself and not yet tried Fedora 14, but I did manage to get the test004 version of Fedora 17 running on my pi the other day. Might be worth trying this version if you're keen on Fedora. You can get it from the location below:- http://scotland.proximity.on.ca/raspber...

Re: Is it possible? Full HD over wifi?

Yes, Wifi bandwidth problem. If reducing fps fixes it that's almost guaranteed, wired working is also a dead giveaway. Although N is supposed to do 54Mbits/s, in real world use it doesn't usually get near that. N is capable of 300mbps if you use channel bonding, G is 54mbps but with the overheads e...

Even though it is Wireless N standard, I think you`ll see it only connects at 65mbps vs 100mbps via cable

Re: Is it possible? Full HD over wifi?

I read someone saying dropping the refresh rate to 24Hz cured the 1080p stuttering

I couldn't seem to set it any lower than 50/50i Hz but maybe because I'm using a 1080p monitor, not a TV

Doesn't sound good then, someone with a bit more experience with the Pi's circuitry might be able to help you pin point the damaged component and possibly solder in a new one

Hope you get it fixed, sucks when electronics fry
