Yes, Wifi bandwidth problem. If reducing fps fixes it that's almost guaranteed, wired working is also a dead giveaway. Even though it is Wireless N standard, I think you`ll see it only connects at 65mbps vs 100mbps via cable

I read someone saying dropping the refresh rate to 24Hz cured the 1080p stuttering

I couldn't seem to set it any lower than 50/50i Hz but maybe because I'm using a 1080p monitor, not a TV

Doesn't sound good then, someone with a bit more experience with the Pi's circuitry might be able to help you pin point the damaged component and possibly solder in a new one

Hope you get it fixed, sucks when electronics fry

Try another PSU, but leave it powered off and disconnected for a few hours, I hear there are some trip switch type fuses that can reset after a while

If you ordered it with a case, they are taking longer to send out because they don't have the cases yet, I bought mine on its own
