Re: My Raspberry Pi is not working

How long did you wait for it to boot, some videos Ive seen stay on a black screen for quite a while on first boot

Also it could be you have created your sdcard image incorrectly and its not going to boot at all

Re: Farnell VS RS delivery times

Ordered mine in May, still no sign. Fed up with seeing later orders being delivered :( RS really have made name for themselves over this. I wasn't expecting mine this early, I thought another couple weeks at least, probably more. Initially they did say I think 11 weeks, so from May it could be any ...

You might get enough voltage from a potato but I doubt you`ll have enough mA etc

Unless you interconnected 5 sacks of tatties and made some regulator circuit, but I can't imagine it would be very portable

Re: Overclocking the PI does not work on Raspbian OS?

Don't have much experience with linux and don't have my Pi yet so this might not be any help at all, and if it is becoming corrupt it probably won't help either, but what if you edit the file to your liking, save it and then set the permissions on that file to 'read only' system wide ?

My Nokia Lumia 710 charger is Micro USB 5v 1200mA and should be ideal for the Pi when it arrives

Re: Boot from USB stick?

Use dd or winimage to write the image to the USB stick rather than the sdcard. Format the sdcard as FAT and copy the files from the FAT partition of the USB stick onto the sdcard (only needs to be about 64M in size). Change cmdline.txt on sdcard from root=/dev/mmcblk0p2 to root=/dev/sda2 Works awes...

Anyone know where I might get the right cables in the UK - I can't find them anywhere online?
