Re: SqueezePlug for Raspberry Pi ready for download

I can't find a way to have squeezeslave and shairport running at the same time - both work, but whatever starts first has a hold on the output device - any help here would be gratefully received:) I think you need to configure and route sound through the ALSA "mixer" as a default device. Here is th...

Re: SqueezePlug for Raspberry Pi ready for download

....unless you can advise me that using the alpha is simply a case of letting it start and being able to ssh in to make adjustments. I assume it doesn't autostart LMS? I just followed the instructions for the Alpha on the SqueezePlug downloads page (needed to add ".sh" to the script invocations..)....

Re: SqueezePlug for Raspberry Pi ready for download

Something strange then - I enabled iPlayer using the original squeezeplug image. When I try any iPlayer live stream I get 'Problem - cannot open file'. On demand just returns 403 Forbidden. Any ideas? Hmm - I never tried iPlayer on the original image as I couldn't get it to provide decent sound ove...

Re: SqueezePlug for Raspberry Pi ready for download

On another forum somebody has said that Triode's BBC iPlayer plugin doesn't work with squeezeplug RPi - is this true? Working fine for me (Listening to Friday's "World on 3" as I type this...). Latest Alpha 5.0 build as a standalone Squeezeslave (with an rpi-update) is sounding perfect over USB thr...

Re: SqueezePlug for Raspberry Pi ready for download

@florca how do you find the sound quality from the UCA202 when used with the Pi? im finding sound through a generic USB sound card to be a little tinny and wondering if its worth the £22? Right now I think I'd advise saving your money - apart from the UCA202 and TP30 I've also tried it with a FiiO ...

Re: SqueezePlug for Raspberry Pi ready for download

And this even simpler /etc/asound.conf sounds (I think...) slightly better... pcm.!default { type hw; card 0; } ctl.!default { type hw; card 0; } Tested with a Topping TP30 DAC/amp and Behringer UCA202 USB sound card. Installing it will limit all ALSA audio output to the specified device - to see wh...

Re: SqueezePlug for Raspberry Pi ready for download

Downloaded, installed and working very well as a pure Squeezeslave device. Thank you! One tip which may help people have problems with very poor quality output via a USB Sound Card... Adding the following simple /etc/asound.conf improved things very significantly! The "rate" statement is optional.. ...
