If you have all of the packages installed

My mistake, i was missing a package. Since i did compile Q3lite before in my current install i didn't check for the packages..... It seems that at some point i did delete one of them "libasound2-dev". Now it did compile fine.

Re: Q3lite - Quake III Arena for the Raspberry Pi

Q3lite has been updated to add some of the framework for choosing between OpenGL and OpenGL ES at startup. The GL/GLES renderers are now separate shared object files that can be loaded at runtime. OpenGL support isn’t complete yet, but it’s getting there. Please try out the latest source code (dev ...

Re: Arcade coin mechinism workings?

They are pre made, it's easy to fit in any arcade you design. The only thing you have to do is to find what kind of coin you want to use. To be honest, i think if you are building an Arcade, you NEED a coin tray. Otherwise good games become boooooring. What's the point of playing an Arcade with unli...

Re: Game Console

Making a "real console" out of the PI3b will get you stuck in 2003/2004. It will be born 15 years late. But i guess it will be a great project.

On the other hand PI3B is like ideal to make old school like arcade games.

Additionally, while making a backup of a game or software (ROM, in this context) is legal, stripping DRM is not legal and never has been. Without DRM the game will not run, so you can't legally ever use your "backup".

Re: Raspberry Pi Handheld Kits?

Also of note, how do you plan to play PS1 games on a Pi without the necessary BIOS and ROM? Both of which are illegal to obtain. Is not illegal to dump Bios from the Console you OWN. Neither is making a backup of the games you own. Some PSX emulators even use their own BIos which are not as good as...

Because I streaming in hd and surf the web with ca. 10 tabs opened in chromium.
If you are doing that and you didn't see any temperature warning then you are safe to go. In fact that is a such a feat for the Pi. Chromium can be a resources hog.

My solution now is to put my Pi3 computers into Flirc cases. http://www.kamipiula.net/pictures/Flirc_Gen2_600x260.jpg The case itself acts as a huge heatsink, keeping the Pi cool, even under heavy loads, without any noise or dust (or additional power). How is the fitting of that case??? It is a nic...

They are noisy and unreliable - horrible. They can be noisy, depending on the model, but unreliable????? They last for years and years. I still have fans in 2004 that were used non stop for years working just fine. I don't know the PI2, but the 3B under moderate use will go up to 85 . A fan is a go...

From the steam files you actually only need DOOM.WAD, the rest of the files are not needed. The DOOM.WAD you get in steam is the same one you get from GoG. It is the latest version of Doom and is the one that's compatible with every single source port. In fact Doom 3 BFG, use that same wad for the c...

SD videos may work, e.g. with SDL output inside a window. You are right i was looking at other code line......

first and foremost, thank you for the tutorial, is quite useful for those who want to compile VLC. But i have a question. Why do you disable OpenGL??? It works just fine with opengl, in fact using Output OpenGL GLX, it behaves like it does in any x86/x64 system.. Instead of ./configure --prefix=/usr...

If you want Ioquake3 with GLES, then use Q3lite, it's what you want and it works fine if you are not using the GL Drivers.
Nice, didn't know that, seems like an improvement for the Raspberry Pi, thanks!
Yes, just be aware it doesn't work with GL Drivers only with legacy drivers.

Yquake2 compiles just fine, plays slow with the legacy driver, play at full speed with open gl drivers at 800x600. Slow downs a bit with 1024x768 and higher. what kind of issue you have? You could always add Pixel Desktop to RetroPie. If you downloaded their zip its removed for size issues. Or build...
