Re: Spotify on the pi

You need to change your user agent string using this code or an chromium extension #Note that you have to start chrome like this, it won't work if you run it while chrome is already running #!/bin/sh exec chromium-browser --app="https://play.spotify.com/" --user-agent="Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_6...

Re: Spotify on the pi

I understand that the spotify app is not supported for the pi and there are several mediocre solutions/alternatives. So my conclusion is that spotify on rpi is just... not finished yet. I already had spotify as a plugin for kodi. Though it works, the UI is... meh. And I wanted spotify more as a stan...

I am trying to install spotify and I installed modipy and I am unsure what it does. And the webpage of mopidy does not explain the one thing one would need..... I dont want to set up a server to stream music. No I just want to run Spotify like I do on my PC and play music. How do I do that? When I e...

Re: Good kodi plugins

But you can also just use a web browser and point it at your Pi's IP address, as the new web interface (chorus 2) is very capable in itself. I am not sure what you are saying there? I also thought of using a bluetooth app for use in a Qt or Python app. I still have an arduino esplora with a bluetoo...

Re: Good kodi plugins

Kodi isn't designed to support DRM'd stuff like Netflix, as they want you to use their own apps/portals so they can do their background stuff like user profiling/tracking etc. Plus of course the DRM itself means that the media can't be directly played back on an open-source player like Kodi as Netf...

Re: Good kodi plugins

I have installed the iptv client as well as spotify but the iptv is not going to work and it is unfixable. This is because of the provider, they use their own closed-system interactive IPTV system with which only their decoders can work with. However I have read something that the Rpi is able to use...

Re: Good kodi plugins

Questions about "illegal" kodi plugins are not allowed here. IPTV: Check the kodi-pvr-iptvsimple plugin (available from the repository). If it can be used and how to configure it depends on the services supported by your provider. I am looking on the kodi page but I cannot even find this PVR plugin...

Good kodi plugins

I have been using a Raspberry with Kodi for a short time, I believe I am using the latest kodi version on Raspbian. And I don't get to use it alot because the TV gets occupied to often by others. So far I installed a few plugins. popcornflix, youtube, plugin for national tv stations, southpark ofcou...

Duration Test of the Pi's SD

I have subjected my Pi 3 to a duration test. I am letting an Arduino switch a relais which turns the power on/off. The goal is to reach 10 years of service which for us means about 7300 cold reboots. The power cut-off finds place after my application has started. At this point no data will be writte...

SD card corruption prevention.

Ik have a RPI running a Qt application and I need to answer some question about the risc of SD card corruption. This RPI will suffer from cold reboots alot. The Qt application does not write data in the form of text files or anything like that. So I am unsure that data gets written on the SD card wh...

No?

Anyways I found the answer. The application picks fonts out of: "/usr/local/qt5pi/lib/fonts". In that folder there was only the dejavu fonts. I downloaded a Chinese and Thai font, moved them to that folder. And there they were... Chinese and Thai lettres.

Re: Chinese fonts on a Rpi 3 running a Qt app

I am still trying to teach my Raspberry Chinese, but still no luck. My Qt application uses the Ubuntu font on the host PC. I copied that entire folder with all ubuntu .ttf files to /usr/share/fonts/truetype next to dejavu. And I changed a line in .bashrc to "export QT_QPA_FONDIR=/usr/share/fonts/tru...

I broke the internet!!

I have a raspberry Pi hanging somewhere on our network, and the occasional change of her Ip address was a pain so I made it static, but I don't recall exactly how I did it. But I now I need to 'teach' this Raspberry Chinese and Thai and I cannot sudo apt-get anything, I broke the internet. I tried t...

I am trying over ssh to sudo apt-get install it but, the Rpi gets stuck at
[Connecting to mirrordirector.raspbian.org]
it does not connect.

I'll now try it on the rpi directly

EDIT: it seems I broke the internet connection a while ago when i gave the Pi a static IP address

Chinese fonts on a Rpi 3 running a Qt app

I am cross-compiling a Qt application for a Rpi 3 and today I finished my translation software. My Ubuntu 16.04 host PC could translate a sentence in Chinese and Thai alike. But the Raspberry only shows [] [] [] [] [] [] I suppose I need to copy certain font files from host to Rpi, but I hav...

I have solved the slowness issue but I don't know what causes it. I'll put this on my list of top 10 weirdest bugs. I was testing with my arduino board, this arduino sends some instructions and fills the entire display full of text, one time with and one time without the 2ms delay, with this I could...

Don't expect many responses about non-Pi boards on this forum. Perhaps if you'd like to fix your existing application to perform better on a Pi, people might be willing to help you. Well I thought that I cannot be the only Rpi user who has ever bumped his head against the ceiling right? And I am ju...
