Re: Use PI as a bluetooth hub / audio multiplexer?

Bluetooth is typically designed for use between 2 device. If a device such as a laptop can make connect to two modules, it is because it eiter has 2 bluetooth modules or it is BT 4.1 which can set up more than 1 connection. I have heared that the Pi can set up 2 connections, but you cannot transmit ...

Re: PWM max duty cycle.

3v3 can supply to 50mA max The I/O pins not more than 16mA You are drawing more power than the GPIO can provide, this is shortcircuiting. You can hook up a oscilloscope to the GPIO pin and monitor the voltage peaks, they will propably be below 3.3V. Shortcircuiting a GPIO does not always end up in s...

Re: Recycle old Laptop with Raspberry Pi 3

I've looked up the model and the thing seems way too small for what you have to stuff in. The 1st problem is that driver for the screen is integrated on the motherboard like some one pointed out, so you need to purchase that separate driver board from that ebay link. And it comes with it's own power...

Re: Raspbian Stretch (9.1) has arrived !!

I get the points, that new testers are needed to test the new things and check for bug. Like I said "in the world of technology, standing still is going backwards". So that is clear ;) I know that raspbian does not release updates as soon every 6 months but other distros like ubuntu do. Thankfully t...

Re: Shortest possible male GPIO header?

It is not too difficult, you can cut the headers one pin at the time and desolder them out. I would buy extra long shield headers which can easily stick through both devices. Solder the header on the first device then solder the 2nd device on it and cut away the metal and plastic that remains. With ...

Re: Before i buy. (Entertainment center)

I have a question. This website http://www.rasplex.com/ .. isn't this site sufficient with getting your pi set up with Plex? I haven't done it myself, I might try it with my 2nd Pi, but I am just wondering. If you already googled a bit you propably would have come across this site as it was the firs...

Re: Raspberry Pi Top Sound quality

What do you precisely mean with real time audio processing? Do you mean recording or playing audio? For just playing audio you can buy amplifier modules or shields and connect speakers, or you can use whatever system is hooked up on your HDMI cable. I think that my TV is making just fine sounds. I d...

Re: Raspbian Stretch (9.1) has arrived !!

Why do people apply updates as soon as possible, it is such a pointless thing to do. If you have a working raspberry which does all it's jobs, then why upgrade to some new version with risc of loosing functionality? I would only upgrade if I come across a limitation or bug which is already solved in...

Re: Serial ESP8266 Remote Serial Port WIFI wireless, WiFi Serial Transceiver Module , ESP32 Wifi Bluetooth Board

It depends what you want to do with them. You can use them as a sort wifi adapter for an arduino or a raspberry (though you can only do simple things, this usage is not much more than sending a few bytes) Or you use it as a stand-alone module. The esp8266 is programmable and you can write programs i...

Just throwing this out here. I am also using a Rpi as media centre. I wanted spotify, netflix, watch TV, watch videos from my harddisk and watch dvds. I could do all except watching TV but this is related to my provider's closed IPTV system. And the pi functions as a NAS. I can rip my DVDs and store...

OutoftheBOTS wrote: All you need is a IR LED and the correct sized resistor for the LED.
Not true, an IR led can take up to ~70mA and the Pi's GPIO don't even come close.
You need to use a transistor as an amplifier.

Re: Speakers

That RC filter can always be removed :D But let it be my last resort. If I need to solder a piece of circuitboard it might as well be an opamp or I buy one. I got my new HDMI cable today so I can test the audio output of the driver board.

I think it is lame that the Pi cannot even supply enough juice for headplugs What features of the Pi would you be willing to see removed in order to add an audio amp? TANSTAAFL. I think... the size. I would make Pi 4 about a cm longer on the SD card side. Have you tried? It almost certainly can run...

You mean building an ampliphier with an opamp. I see that the Lm386 is used alot. I get the idea now. I happen to have found another solution. Today I noticed me LCD driver board happens to have an audio ampliphier onboard. It is a TDA7496. There is even a 4 pole connector which is called 'speakers'...

I wanted to test the effect of cold reboots (cutting power off) but some guy beat me to it https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=63&t=182519 He cut of the power with and without writing and later also with brownouts, meaning he let the voltage drop slowly. Directly controll Rpi 3's bluetooth module.

I was using a c program which can set up a connection with a different bluetooth device. I have not written the program myself, it is ment to communicate with devices via RFCOMM protocol. The Raspberry can succesfully connect with a bluetooth HC-05 module. This module can only use the RFCOMM protoco...

You can see what I did in my Zeemouse project for how to do that. X11 has an API which allows you to inject key and mouse events. My project uses a bluetooth gamepad to drive the mouse/keyboard using RFCOMM to the custom protocol of the gamepad. You can use most of the same code to do what you need...
