Re: RetroArch Emulator Frontend

To anyone looking for a simple front-end for RetroArch that doesn't use X, I present: EmulationStation ! I've been working on it for the past week or so. It's written in C++ and uses SDL, SDL TTF, and Boost.Filesystem. It can be easily configured with a list of "systems" - each with a name, search p...

I believe you need to specify the file for joyconfig to write to, something like

Code: Select all

Re: RetroArch Emulator Frontend

https://github.com/Themaister/RetroArch-Phoenix Uses Phoenix: http://byuu.org/phoenix/ I have yet to try to compile it or anything but it might be a good place to start. Just compiled and tested this, it seems it's just designed as an easier way to enter the command line options for RetroArch (you ...

Re: RetroArch Emulator Frontend

My dream would be to have a low profile set-top box that I can use to play all my retro games. It sounds like Raspberry Pi + RetroArch could fit the bill. Do you think it'd ever get to a point where I can have the Pi boot directly into the emulator front end and control everything with a controller...

Re: RetroArch Emulator Frontend

I ran it as root because my normal user didn't have permissions for /dev/fb0 if I remember correctly. I suppose I should've just chmodded it.

Ah, excellent! That fixed it, everything works now! Super Mario World running full speed, I'm quite happy. :D

To anyone else who may be confused about how to run RetroArch like I was:
sudo ./retroarch -L path_to_core.so path_to_rom

Re: RetroArch Emulator Frontend

Oh haha, I should've thought of that. That particular problem is solved, but I get a new error later on: In file included from gfx/rpi.c:19: /opt/vc/include/bcm_host.h:447: warning: type of bit-field 'scan_mode' is a GCC extension /opt/vc/include/bcm_host.h:448: warning: type of bit-field 'native' i...

Re: RetroArch Emulator Frontend

Hey there, I've been trying to get RetroArch to build. I've tried both the official and RetroArch-Rpi repositories, and they both give me the same error when I run make: In file included from /usr/include/libpng12/png.h:518, from screenshot.c:30: /usr/include/libpng12/pngconf.h:371: error: expected ...
