Re: RPi as VPN Router and Wireless Access Point. Possible??

James, I see now, in the preamble to the tutorial: This documentation assumes we are using the standard 192.168.x.x IP addresses for our wireless network, so we will assign the server the IP address 192.168.0.1. I did note that in your changes to /etc/network/interfaces to enable the access point, y...

Re: RPi as VPN Router and Wireless Access Point. Possible??

James, This is a great writeup. More detailed and probably more correct than the others I've found, at least for my application. A question - and this probably belongs in the newbie section - can I take the IP addresses you provided literally? In other words, because of the design of the network, ca...

Great to hear it's working for you. I haven't gotten that far yet. Are you running Jessie? Maybe you can help me get mine working.

Re: [SOLVED]Troubleshooting openvpn connection - no internet

I feel your pain. I'm trying to make the same setup, but with my Pi as an Access Point. I posted this last night, and so far, no one has offered any assistance: https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=175288 What brought me to your post, is that one tutorial says to set up static IP ...

RPi OpenVPN w ExpressVPN Config

Hello All, I'm pretty new at all of this and not sure this is the correct forum. Therefore, I'm open to this being moved as appropriate... I recently purchased a Pi 3 and I'm hoping to set up my Pi as a Wireless Access Point and VPN gateway to Expressvpn, my VPN provider. I've installed OpenVPN and ...

Re: PIA VPN configuration

This seems like it would work with other vpn providers as well. For example, expresssvpn. They don't officially support RPi yet., but here is their tutorial for Linux: https://www.expressvpn.com/support/vpn-setup/manual-config-for-linux-with-openvpn/ Anyone see any issues with this setup, from a pro...

Re: Not Getting Login Prompt, Putty/SSH

Thanks for the info, F' Loom.

Is there any way to gain headless access to my Pi, to enable SSH? It appears the other methods (VCN and Web Access) also require prior access to the Pi to enable the functionality. I do not currently have access to an HDMI monitor

Not Getting Login Prompt, Putty/SSH

Hello All, I'm trying to access and configure a Pi 3 or the first time, headless. I've loaded the Raspbian "Jessie" image on a 32 GB SD card using Win32 Image, inserted that into my Pi, powered it up and Ethernet cabled it to my router. I get solid red power light and a blinky green light next to th...
